Couple years ago. Not a fan of either, but one group of my friends have started going to icon because bottle service is so cheap. Lines are so fricking long now that I just go to Cedar/The Palms at the beginning and don't leave.

Always enjoyed Basils my first year. Nothing like feeling the 2nd floor bend a little bit when the dance floor got crowded. They must've gotten busted over the summer or something because they started rejecting my ID my 2nd year (I was 25-26, but was still using my SC ID with my 16 year old self as the pic).
I don't mind "nightclub-type" atmospheres generally speaking, but they're not really the type I look for when I go out to a college bar scene. That's why I never really liked Social (in College Station or Columbia.

Basil would always ask for a $5 cover for guys so I would laugh and go somewhere else. Would not surprise me if they got hit by TABC. I avoided all the "nightclub" places at all costs but would go to Foundation room for 75 cent Wednesdays if I had Thursday off. $1.50 doubles tend to change your mindset in a hurry

I was also there post-Daisy Dukes apparently. It was 217 Blvd. for my two years, which has since also been replaced.

I went to daisy dukes my first week at school. Had been in texas for maybe 10 days. I had no idea what line dancing was until that very moment. I stuck out
