Maybe you guys have been watching a different Texas A&M the last few decades, but we are no ones headliner.

Which is exactly why they would want to play right now. Playing again would draw a huge buzz, and they feel like they would win.

Their top home game this year was Maryland.

I wouldn't go that far, but it is obvious they get much more out of it than we do. As a pure fan of football and A&M, I want the game. But that isn't the big picture.

If I was the ruler of college football, I make 4 super conferences. The SEC would add Duke & UNC. We'd play 9 conference games. Our OOC would be tu, top-tier ACC/Pac/Big 10 team, and an old SWC foe (Rice, Houston, SMU). The winner of each conference would advance to a playoff.

You do realize we aren't hurting Texas by not playing them? They neither gain nor lose anything by playing us. Look at their future OOC schedule. They ain't hurting.

The only losers in this pissing match are the real fans.

I want the game back because it's fun and competitive and makes for great drama. Some of y'all are so jaded you're shitting nephrite.

That's ridiculous

They have a shite schedule in a shitty conference and it hasn't changed since the big12 fell apart

They can't even sell out the red river rivalry

Their shite conference schedule will remain shite wether we play them or not. I don't know why y'all keep bringing it up.

But that aside, who cares?! Some of our people seemed more concerned with making choices that hurt texas rather than help A&M. The game is good for our fans who don't act like prideful 15 year old girls.

Man the frick up and play ball. Let's stop acting like y'all wouldn't watch the game. Every football fan from the great republic of Texas will watch it, including Bears and Red Raiders. The two flagships must play.

But playing them doesn't help us in any way shape or form

Big games? We already play them

National TV audiences? We already have them

Games versus opponents the recruit love to see? We already got those

Huge home attendance numbers? Yep got those two

Strong enough schedule to get in the playoffs? Yep a one loss A&M still has a great shot at the playoffs

It's less about the game itself for me. I'd gladly and gleefully watch a postseason matchup.

It's about getting back in bed with those snakes in a business sense. They aren't to be trusted. They can and will use every cheap tactic to their advantage. And that's before the game is even played. And they have a proven track record of reneging or threatening to renege if they feel like they're coming up on the short end of the arrangement too often.

For me, that bridge has been burned. The game will eventually come back, if nothing else for nostalgia's sake. And I'll be there with bells on, ready to BTHO t.u.

I just won't personally recommend a return to an annual series. Ever.

We aren't joining their conference, so they can't control us like they used to. And quite honestly, I'm trying to figure out in what possible way we can be screwed by them today.

I'm drawing blanks.

Their major advantage was running the conference, but that's gone now.

How about playing a natural rival?

Or playing an awesome road game every other year that's only 90 miles away from B/CS?

Or getting all that national exposure from an OOC game for once?

Or making Thanksgiving important again?

Or more importantly, getting a chance to beat texas?
