I just wanted to take a few minutes to express my feelings of gratitude and awe to Aggie fans this past week. My friend and I made the 1100 mile trek from Columbia to College Station by car, arriving Thursday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning. We thoroughly enjoyed Northgate (especially Dixie Chicken, the Dry Bean and Backyard) and while in that district I bought maybe 3 beers, although I drank much, much more.
Everyone was incredibly hospitable; we had the great fortune of running into some great folks with the Lone Star Tailgating Association at Dixie Chicken Thurs night and went to their tailgating spot just outside of Blue Bell Park. There were several good people there, but I especially remember Don taking care of us and giving us plenty of food, beer and shots at the Dry Jalapeno bar at their spot. He even gave us a commemorative shot glass to remember them by.
The game...well, I would say we choked in typical Gamecock fashion, but the fact is A&M earned it in the 2nd half and the crowd was unbelievable in the 4th quarter. Awesome display of college football tradition and fan support.
Texas A&M has become my 2nd favorite team after this trip, and I will definitely be back in a couple of years. Gig 'Em Aggies this Saturday!

Glad you had a great time.
We pride ourselves on being good hosts outside of Kyle. Inside we won't throw beers or anything on you, but we pretty much want to see our team murder yours.

I had a great time in Columbia last year with some hospitable Gamecock fans. I've been rooting for you guys ever since. I'm glad you were shown a good time

Happy to hear it. People always say we shouldn't be so nice, but its just who we are. Comments like that make it worth it.

The original owner of the Dry Bean was named Don (long since deceased), and it almost made me laugh to imagine him giving anything away for free.

Honestly can't get into the rivalry aspect of this game because I like your school and fans so much.
