The pitching is so up and down. Time to bench Sdao, but who the hell do you replace him with? Sims isn't Friday night material yet ...

Earley could be a good, young coach. Him stepping away and focusing more on being the HC and the hitting coach has paid huge dividends this year. Have to trust your staff.

Still not sold on our pitching coach. Do we make a change this offseason?

I’d like to see a change made at pitching coach. Especially now that Earley is almost certainly guaranteed another year, coaches would be more willing to join the staff. The pitching has improved from god awful to manageable (at best) but that’s not good enough imo. And it’s gonna hurt us in the post season only having 3-4 reliable pitchers on the whole staff.

On the other hand, look at what this season's pitching staff truly is. Zero "elite" arms. We have a bunch of functional arms, including one coming off of Tommy John surgery. It's a staff that does not walk many, and that has been important during the course of the season. And I think overall the staff has improved as the season has progressed. There isn't a Cortez or Aschenbacher to come out of the pen to close the door. It's been a managed combo of Johnny Fullstaff to make it work. We just need to make sure we aren't fighting our way out of the losers bracket during the regional.

Earley is managing this probably as well as it can be done.

Saw someone post in the game thread that we’ve only lost one midweek game all year

Glad to see Tarlton in the rear view mirror and have that W

Raining in B/CS today. Doesn't look like they will play tonight.

What will they do about the banana game at Kyle? Can we get a double header in before that game?

Sdao needs to sit the bench. No damned idea who replaces him though

Pitching will be why we just have a really good year and not a great one

One step at a time I guess

First series loss since March. Auburn is a very good side. But we are still in good shape. I agree that the overall lack of arms will be our undoing in the end. Still it's been a very good season so far.

No idea what to do about Sdao. Best idea so far I've heard suggested was start Darden and move Sdao to the pen. Conceptually, I like it.
