I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Reed or Henderson won the job.

It’s really interesting to me, I see some people saying “Connor will be all team SEC in 2024, and be invited to NY in 2025” and others like you saying one of the backup guys could easily pass him and be the starter.

Maybe yall are better at evaluating the team than I do, because I’ve got no clue how to accurately assess what we’ve got back at QB. We haven’t seen optimal o-line and QB play since 2020, since then it’s been a mess of: bad coaching, injuries, and misses on recruiting. I’m just hoping we get some stability and clarity from Elko as we move through this season.

I will say a part of me secretly is hoping this coming year is like the 2012 season, where we surprise a lot of teams and ball out. We know the talent is there, just can it be developed and utilized right. Time will tell.

I think Weigman is the most talented QB on the roster, but I think he’s vastly overrated by a section of our fanbase. The injuries and a completely shite staff have stunted his development but he still has some serious holes as a prospect

This was really my thought. Again, we haven’t seen him have a chance at his full potential so who truly knows, but from what I’ve seen he looks like a good to great QB, haven’t seen the elite side of him that it seems like half our fanbase swears he is.

Remember when Kenny Hill was the guy? Then Kyle Allen & Kyler? I think most people realized Mond wasn’t going to set the world on fire, but then it was Haynes, now Weigman. Pretty much every QB we’ve had since Johnny our fanbase has hyped up to be our next heisman qb and the reality shows we haven’t had anyone close to Johnny’s level in a decade. Maybe Kyler if he would’ve stuck around and developed more here.

8-4 to 9-3 seem likely.

Who had a good perspective on TE competition? Lucci teased Theo this wk but wasn't saying starter, just that he has shown coaches more. I know we love the Fresno transfer & Platt & D Green when he is healthy. I'm not sure if Green will be stronger/faster in wk 10 than wk 1 or where he is in rehab. Also don't forget the Purdue TE, I can't remember if he has speed but isn't he a plus blocker?

With an unproven OLine, and an entirely new O being put in, by entirely new set of coaches no less, not to mention a less than stellar crew from the transfer portal to try and plug immediate holes in the lineup, until proven otherwise, we would be luck to go 7-5 or 6-6 and qualify for a bowl game. 8-4 with a bowl game win making 9-4 should make us giddy for the future (it's always the future hope! haha).

Notre Lame: L

Mac-an-ease: easy W

@Gata: first road game, though possibly struggling team as well. toss-up. I'm giving us a W.

Bowling : the W that gets us bowling? haha

Arky: this is a must W, hopefully coaches and players get it done.

Mizzou: these tigers will maul us for a L.

OFF: that's a W

@MissSt: this has got to be a W

LSWho: they're likely too strong, A&M too weak especially at OL. L

@SCe: this used to be an automatic W. Not sure if SCe is reloaded, hoping for a W.

NMSU: the right Ags get the W here

@Aubs: this should be a W.

Tu: this is an L.

I'm happy to be proven wrong on the specifics, especially that last L, for example.

8-4, but I can easily see losses @Flordia and @Auburn or @SCe. Road games are tough to win in the SEC. 6-6 to 8-4, with likely 7-5.

8-4

ETA: I’ve lost interest in Aggie football the last couple of years. As a result I have no idea who is actually returning, who we lost or what to expect really, but that schedule looks manageable…on paper at least. Hope Elko has hired some coaches that can coach em up, and somebody can finally get the oline to look respectable at least.

I think the floor is 7-5 and the ceiling is 10-2. Someone said it earlier in the thread that it’s 8-4 until proven otherwise and I agree with that statement. I want to believe that a lot of the issues we had with Jimbo such as being poorly prepared for away games and terrible clock management will be fixed by Elko or at the very least improved. Those two factors alone definitely cost us games. But again until proven I can’t bank on it.
I think ND is a hugely important game, obviously they’re ranked and it’ll be gameday and the start of the Elko era but if you win that game you get some massive momentum early in the season. The UF game scares me cause it’s early in the season where they may have “hope” still and Napier is gonna be coaching for his life plus they’re at home. I think on paper we’re probably better but that’s gonna be a tough one early. If Elko can start off 4-0 and navigate that little stretch our next hardest teams will all be at home and who knows what can happen. But you lose to ND and stumble at UF there’s gonna be some tough moments throughout the season. I’m very much in wait and see mode but I have a ton of confidence in Elko to at the very least improve a lot of the little things we seemingly couldn’t get right under Jimbo. I think most realistic is 8-4 9-3 and that to me is a good start to his tenure but we shall see. Either way I’m excited for the season

I’m okay with 2-10 if it means wins vs LSU and tu

But I’m going 8-4 winning one we shouldn’t on paper and losing one we should have one.

Glad we get a bye week before powerhouse NM

11-1 or 10-2 no more than two regular season losses

I know pre-season rankings don't mean much, but we're playing #4, #5, #7, and #12. Fortunately, we were able to avoid #1, #6, and #9 this year.

I think he means manageable cause our 4 toughest opponents (on paper) are all at home. Still a tough schedule tho, but I think 9-3 is achievable. Am I betting we get to 9? Absolutely not, I gotta see it to believe it

9-3.

I think we lose to ND, but then grab some momentum.

Lay an egg at Williams-Brice and lose to the Cocks. We always have a WTF? road game.

Lose to tu. They are still in our heads.

This makes no sense. They may beat us, but it won't have anything to do with them being "in our heads."

Edit to increase to 4 losses after seeing first half offense.

Double edit,,, to increase to 6 losses after seeing 2nd half offense.

Not sure how old you are, but two beatings in a row is all it takes for them to piss themselves if someone says Whoop in a crowded room, it’s always been that way

Mack brown had a nice run but that doesn’t matter to anyone now
