Yeah from the outside, O'Connor looks like an 11/10 hire.

Rogers also mentioned O’Sullivan. He has an even better track record but I know nothing about him outside that weird tragedy with the supposed affair.

My guess is O'Sullivan and O'Connor end up with increased promises from their respective NIL collectives and we end up getting someone with a lot less on their resume (Kentucky, ECU, DBU, etc)

In my mind if it’s not O’Connor I’d like Heefner

Farmer, can we not cram news into one thread like this...I feel like the board is missing out on new threads that would be interesting to users. Instead they are lost inside the mega thread. Thoughts?

I took time off for obvious reasons. We can do it, however. I am not in charge of anything. When this thread was made, I expected no major news.

Lots of places (excluding Texags) are saying it's Heefner

I am fairly confident it's not done yet.

In what sense?

Heefner hasn't agreed to take the job?
Or he's not the primary target?

Heefner will be the underwhelming hire we deserve with those in charge.

Underwhelming? Yes. Bad hire? No. Same with Tom Walter IMO. He’s really intriguing to me.

I don’t disagree with that. He’s no doubt a good baseball coach, but coming off just losing a close national championship, and the shite show that followed I’d be extremely disappointed. I can already imagine the “but he’s also a good person” justification from some ags too. Couldn’t care less about that. If hiring another scumbag leads to the success that Schloss produced I’m more than ok with it. The AD needs to learn to be just as ruthless, and not get caught with their pants down.

According to Brauny at Texags, Aschenbeck has applied for a Covid year. If granted, Brauny has stated that he will be back. That would be ourstanding.
