He went off on a huge rant about the AD black balling 247 because when they sent out info on the recent early Jan enrollees they included their star ranking from all the major recruiting sites except for 247.

They probably did it just to mess with him. He's an easy target.

So we have 6 spots left. Who else are we going to get? Just going off CB and stuff I have seen (no subscriptions anywhere), below are my guesses. 1 RB Etienne LINK 1 CB Sheffield LINK 1 DE Jones LINK 1 or 2 DT Wilson LINK of course would be the gold medal, Bethley LINK looks more likely 1 LB Levi Jones LINK seems to be trending out way after LSU apparently backed off him. Do we take another OL? I have not seen much news on him since he couldn't play his senior year but I would think we would still have a chance with Zabie LINK

So looks like there is a chance we won't land any of these, pretty crappy way to end recruiting.

TA is saying we have one spot left FWIW. I have no idea if that's true or not

Hence our lack of enthusiasm on here.

It is the least celebrated top 15 class in our history. Hell that link posted from ESPN has the parent of our star QB recruit consoling fans on the state of the program. That is unheard of.

If anything it shows the natural success the SEC move brought us (aka the fact we went from maybe top 30 classes to guaranteed top 20 classes) is already being taken for granted, which is a good thing.

There's even a rumor of Buddy Johnson decommitting. Although that hasn't been substantiated. Neither has the rumor of Richard Moore transferring.

I think it's about right. I've been trying to track where we're at with scholarships and here's my best guess.

We return 15 (to be seniors) - Hubenak, White, Ford, Ratley, Cline, Henderson, Chevis, Cunningham, Johnson, Harvey, Davis, Willis, Wilson, Watts, and Ellis.

16 juniors - Kirk, Jeffery, Davis, Martin, Lanfear, Sutherland, Mack, Keke, Durham, Garner, Moore, Thomas, Alaka, Capers-Smith, Dunning, and LaCamera.

28 sophomores and redshirt freshman - Bussey, Merritt, Elbert, McCoy, Elam, Siverand, Pryor, Starkel, Boyd, Williams, Rogers, Chriss, Davis, Hansford, Anderson x 2, Diesch, Prater, McCollum, Moton, Madubuike, Dodson, Fuller, Oliver, Okeke, Chattman, Reynolds, and Mann.

And we have 26 incoming freshman, 9 of which are already enrolled. That brings us to 85 players right now.

We also gave walk on scholarships to 3 players last year; Schorp, Tripucka, and Gillaspia. And there's at some point been talk of more possible attrition from White, Davis, Bussey, Elbert, Moore, and Jeffery, although I'm not sure if anything is official on any of them. My guess is that 1 or 2 will leave which will open up a final spot for another 2017 recruit.

White - per Junction (247) he's almost certainly gone

Davis - when someone who plays the same position you play wears your number, you're probably gone

Bussey - latest rumors are that he has changed his mind and is coming back

Elbert - Career ending surgery. Medically retired

Moore - All rumors at this point, but if he leaves it would be devastating both in optics and in terms of talent on the field

Jeffery - Zwerneman said he was transferring

Thanks. Glad Bussey changed his mind and really hope Moore sticks around. Moore should be a starter in 2017 imo.

Losing White, Davis, and Jeffery shouldn't be an issue. We need the scholarship spots. Really wish Elbert's injury wasn't career ending though. We need all the OL help and depth that we can get.

So if White, Davis, Elbert, Jeffery, and Ellis are out, that gives us 80 scholarships. Assuming we give another year to Schorp, Tripucka and Gillaspia, we're at 83.

I haven't followed recruiting all that much this year, but did he even have an offer anymore?
