Style was great for the first year or two. In year 5, when we are still getting our asses shredded in the run game on both ends it no longer has the same appeal.

Even if SMU won 10 games next year and A&M only won 6 he'd still have way more fun playing here.
I've been to enough SMU games to know that even w/the worst possible crowds we'd get at Kyle the experience just doesn't compare.
Besides, he'd be pretty damn fun to watch running read option under Mazzone.

Your penchant for reading racism into HC discussions is bullshite. If Sumlin were winning 10+ games consistently, no one would utter a peep about the "swag". But having "swag" without real success is just empty and pathetic. And given how we've been consistently out-physicalled for years, it's only natural for some to wonder if the DJ is symptomatic of a club atmosphere.
I haven't seen a single poster on this board praising Herman for his diamond grill and his tradition of "scoring" with every player before a game. On the contrary, it's been ridiculed.
RC Slocum had far, far more success than Sumlin has ever known as a head coach. He was the winningest coach in our history. But being white didn't save his arse from being fired when the product on the field dropped off.

TexAgs discussed this a little bit on the radio today. They believe DB is currently the strength of this class. Lots of length like Chavis is used too.
Derrick Tucker (S), Keldrick Carper(ATH), Tyree Johnson (DE) and Jayden Peevy (DT/DE) are "high" caliber prospects that we should be able to watch at the Under Armour and Army All-American games. They have 2 4* linebackers, which is way better, than normal in Santino and Buddy Johnson.
A&M is trying to make a push for a couple of JUCOs (Michael Clemons, Kendall Sheffield, and Javon Kinlaw).
A&M would love to get linebacker, Anthony Hines, who is supposed to choose this week.
