Wonder if Sumlin told Smith, "I don't care where you commit. I just care about getting your letter of intent."

a quote from daylon from hamm
quote:
“I silently committed back to A&M on my official visit and I told Coach Sumlin before I left (on the weekend of Jan. 16),” Mack exclusively told GigEm247 on Tuesday night. “The moment I knew I was going back was when I met with the coaches on my visit. The moment that shocked me was when coach (Terry) Price pulled up coach (John) Chavis’ list of players he’s coached at my position that were in the NFL and it was impressive. I had no idea he’d coached that many people. Then he compared that list to the entire Big 12. Not just TCU or Texas, but the entire conference, and after that I kinda knew. Plus, I knew if I came in and played as hard as I could and stayed healthy that I would be able to get to next level.”

I really don't understand this, it's equivalent to saying if a defender was there, it would have been an interception. If you know a defender can't make the play, you throw it. Where the adjustment comes in is determining what the next level defenders can do, and you adjust as a thrower.
His film is full of throws that aren't on the money. The receiver is open, and he throws it too low or short. Still a catch, but an interception against anyone above a high school level DB. No matter what the competition, a QB should always be looking to make the best throw possible. If Kyler Murray is doing that in his film, I'm not getting my hopes up. I think he will be good, but I think he is being way overhyped. Johnny's success along with being the son of Kevin Murray has really helped him to be evaluated very highly.
