That is easy to say, his buyout is massive.

You dont understand how embarrassed and upset HUNDREDS of influential Aggies are right now.
The buyout plate was being passed around yesterday.

Roger, I'm sorry but the 2-3 big donors your source may know aren't represetitive of the thousands of other more level headed donors

Obviously they'll have someone lined up, frankly I'm told thats the only reason it may not happen. If the choice is Sumlin or some nobody, cooler heads will give Sumlin a lame duck year.
Ok, he ain't getting fired this year then. There is no chance this would have even gotten to this point if they had a person lined up. He would have already been gone and Kyler would still be here.

No way he gets fired this year. I have zero doubt that, barring a miracle, next year is a lame-duck year for Sumlin, but right now there's a big buyout no viable replacement on the market so he'll be coaching us in 2016.

Sarge, this isnt about knowing a couple of donors. Its about knowing what the collective of our brass has threatened Sumlin with.
They were willing to sit tight if Sumlin conceded and replaced Spav against his will. He agreed, but after Allen was lost due to his incompetence he was flat told he was on dangerously thin ice.
Maybe it is emotion that will calm down, but there are not simply "2-3" donors who eant him gone. There is a collective at the top that actively told him "dont run off Kyler or else".

Can you not say what was done that could have been avoided that ran them both off? Why are players tweeting like they aren't big losses?

If we fire him, Sumlin woukd be lucky to get half that buyout money. He'll settle to keep his career viable.

Is it too late for Allen to change his mind?
Posted on 12/17/15 at 4:12 pm to leoj
Kyle Allen left because Sumlin chose to make it about him sucking vs him being injured. He knew Kyle had an AC seperation and lied to everyone making it seem like Kyle was just playing bad instead of hurt. If Sumlin had simply said "Kyle is fighting through a tough injury" Allen woukd still be here, even given his love for Spav who is probably gone.
Murray left because Sumlin made him a ton of promises then waffled throughout the year. Wanting him to give up baseball really rubbed him wrong, even after Sumlin supposedly conceded yesterday. This is among many things. And yes, Kyler is reportedly a delicate little flower who is entitled.

Well players on twitter are calling him entitled, so I'm not really as mad at Sumlin right now. Do I think he's screwed this up? YES!!!
But Murray from all accounts from players, is a cancer.

I can see both sides of the argument. Donors want to force Sumlin to use Kyler Murray, but does Sumlin want to use Murray in his offense?
I'm completely open to Sumlin staying for 2016 and doing it his way (Even if it means keeping Spavitard). Hell, I will even accept 8 wins-4 loses next year...just don't let those loses be because our offense sputtered like it did this year. I'm not pissed because we lost, I'm pissed because we are weakest in what is supposed to be Sumlin's specialty; OFFENSE! We scored 10 points or less against Auburn, LSU, and Ole Miss and were shut out of the endzone every time we reached the redzone against Vandy. Fix the offense and gives us hope! I don't care if we lose to Ole Miss again next year, just keep it competitive and don't roll over like you have the past 2 years!!!

Roger, I don't have any reason to doubt that you are passing on information from a source that you consider reliable, and information that has the air of scandal or skeletons-in-the-closet to it. But at this point, it sounds a bit sensationalistic to me. (I'm not talking about the qb situation stuff).

Damn. Why would he throw Kyle under the bus like that and not let kyler play baseball when everyone knew he wanted to do that? Perplexing

The whole situation is sensationalistic. Thats what happens when a coach brings the circus to town.
