Lunch at local sports bar

My wife and had lunch at a local sports bar, one that is very popular with probably 50 TVs on. Tuned to at least 5 different games. No wait for a table but very few empty tables. Bar about 70% full. Nobody paying attention to any single game and almost no one paying any attention at all. 10 TVs tuned to 5 games and almost no one would have know what the down and distance was, let alone what the last commercial was an ad for. This is the only thing keeping CFB alive.

No one can afford to go out and blow money on drinks in this economy for one but yeah it is true the product sucks and the interest is dying.

Presumably OP is in Georgia. I know they're a blue state now but nobody under the age of 50 has any money to blow at bars these days.
Cheaper and more fun to watch a game in your own home, your own food and drinks. Much better quality too.

I still watch every game. From home with a 6 pack (14 dollars)...
The NFL is going the way of the NBA ... and college football is not far behind after the bullshite watched earlier today ...

That's already happening in Texas and Georgia.

Huh? Every restaurant is packed every weekend. If the local sports bar is not packed on a Saturday it is not because of the "economy"

I'm headed to Taco Mac for UGA game.
Will be like a UT-Austin student section. 9 pitchers, 1 plate of wings. 120 dollar tab. 4 dollar tip.
Me and the boy will eat, drink 2-3 ... and tip 30%

Ohhh.. you just took me back. Taco Mac in the mid 00s was it to go watch football. The wings were so much better. The buffalo chicken tenders, yes frozen, were unhinged. The queso was made in house with about 20-30 ingredients. Refills were $1.99 I think? shite man you’re gonna make me cry.
Edit: Then they got bought out and changed hands a couple times I think. Costs were cut. Prices went up. But they still come thru every now and again for me and that blue cheese is next level, a hill I will die on.

Take a chip, break it up inside a tortilla, then double dip into the salsa and queso. If you’ve never done it, it will change your life.

Late 90's through early 00's Kennesaw Taco Mac for wings, beer, and Golden Tee, was a regular spot for me and my friends.

The place was almost full, people eating and having a couple of beers, paying next to no attention to the games. Lots of TVs tuned in, nobody paying attention.

Taco Mac and Three Dollar Cafe and Jr Crickets was almost a must for Braves games when I was a young man. Sunday afternoon Braves after brunch at Rio Bravos and beers at Hooters after the game….damn I miss Atlanta at times LOL
