Nope that distinction will forever belong to Bruce Ariens who actually did cost Bama an Iron Bowl and his job eventually.

He did alright in the end. Three Super Bowl rings and one as an HC.

Never would have seen that coming after that stupid playcall from the iron bowl.

I feel like we missed out on that guy but he would have eventually went to the NFL either way anyways.

It was an idiotic decision amidst some majorly bad coaching in that game. We won despite our coaches (and the refs trying to help AU in the end…that missed blatant hold where your guy grabbed our guy’s jersey, pulled him in, and then tackled him in the wide open field was something else).

That was an objectively stupid decision that just so happen to work.

There's pretty much no logic at all for not taking the lead with just 4 minutes remaining

Not really. 7 wins it, 3 is easy to get with how Auburn had been getting yardage in the second half and having 4:00 minutes and all their timeouts. They got into FG range before giving up the turnover.

Layer onto that Bama’s kicker had missed chip shots like that many times this year. A 20 yarder is no guarantee with him.

It wasn’t the best choice, it really was the only choice to get out of there with a W.

Talty made a couple of nice kicks earlier but he's been shaky. He missed a chip shot with no pressure last week.

If you kick and it's good Auburn gets average field position down 3 and had been heating up on offense.

If you kick and miss they get average field position tied.

If you go for it barring an end zone turnover or a massive sack they are backed up in a tie game.

The play call was perfect. The TE on the right side blocks a defender into another defender. As long as Horton beats his guy inside its a wide open layup for a TD or you get called for offensive pass interference and still have a very makeable kick.

Absolutely love the call considering all factors regardless of outcome.

Kicking there is some pussy arse playing not to lose shite given all the above mentioned circumstances.
