The SEC needs a full time, professional referee core. The SEC will make $1.11 billion this year. Pay a full time referee core, provide year round training with accountability. No more plumbers, accountants, and life insurance salesman doing weekend work. It's ridiculous SEC refs are contractors.

I think the vast majority of refs honestly do the best they can but with D1 CFB being a multi billion dollar industry, having largely part time refs seems an antiquated system.

What I dislike is they cant be called out. If the coaches or players call them out then there is fines and penalties.

However the refs sure can call a player out. Back in the day when a player made a mistake the refs didnt say the players number. Now they call out the player. I think turnabout is fair play. What makes them special?

No they don’t try their best

They have been corrupted

If you will notice, it has nothing to do with team bias but rather it has everything to do with helping Vegas and all the books get what THEY need to profit most

Just start tracking it.

Watch line movements. Whoever is not getting the money gets the calls.

Case in point: today the line kept dropping in the Auburn / LSU game and Auburn got NONE of the calls. They literally shoved our receiver out of bounds in the end zone on our very first drive - no call.

That’s at the high school level also and that was put in place at the coaches insistence.

They want to know who they need to pull out of the game and who they need to do corrective coaching with.

Also the coaches at all levels get crew info well in advance of a game. They can scratch an official from a crew if they want.

We need transparency more than anything.
It’s becoming very very questionable if these games are being rigged.

I think they do a good job for the most part, but they seem to be biased against UK a lot. I hope if the team can keep winning some of these calls will turn around

Has nothing to do with being able to point at them and say they messed up. Lets them have a press conference after the game and answer questions.

Yes. I think that if you have professional refs that the white hat should be subjected to questioning in some way.

I have to agree with this. Every SEC game I've seen this year has been officiated extremely sketch. Let a team grab wrs on D until the game seems like it will go your way then start being fair (unless it gets close to switching result) or not call obvious PI on a game deciding drive late. They don't seem to think they even need to be subtle about it anymore.
The other conferences seem to be trying to protect their playoff contenders also. The BYU UCF end of regulation was a complete joke. You can tell the broadcast crew is in on it too SMH. Same with the Miami FSU ending.

I ain’t a conspiracy theorist because I think anything requiring more than 2-3 people keeping quite is impossible BUT it’s only a matter of time until we find out that some of the bad officiating we’ve grown to accept was actually gamblers buying officials, players and coaches. Most of it is just incompetence but to think it can be as bad as it is over and over to the point that we only notice really bad calls or no calls and it’s naive to think that criminals haven’t at least seriously considered using it to their advantage. It’s going to happen if it ain’t happening already.

Well speaking of this…targeting should not be the only reviewable penalty. Coaches should be able to toss a challenge flag or two on some bullshite penalties or no calls and that will at least tamp down some of the absolute game changing ilk of blown calls

I’m not calling for endless challenge flags for coaches but just one or two for plays, including blown calls/penalties.

Ummm NO

Where in the hell did you get that from?

We got our teeth kicked in on both lines of scrimmage

The entire LSU team should be arrested immediately for assault, battery, rape and sodomy

We are talking about crooked refs in ALL heavily bet games in the SEC. They are bought off without a doubt.
