Very similar to when we played Saban in 2007.

It was a cathartic release.

We will see how this rivalry continues going forward. I’ll call it a rivalry again now.

Apparently not, he had a 40-50 million dollar roster it definitely cost LSU more..I'd be very upset if I was LSU because if you think this is going to be your only loss I see a few more ahead of you...oof that's a lot of money to go play in a bowl in Nashville.

your team will never be the same since Saban left, you have to sleep with that everynight

You have to sleep with the fact LSU never has been and never will be what Alabama was not just once in their history but twice. And it obviously bothers you or you wouldn’t start a thread like this showing how upset you really are.

Not sure anyone remembers but Saban didn’t exactly blow the doors off LSU in his first return to LSU. Was also a close game Loss.
Just sayin

Not sure anyone remembers Saban didn’t have a single player on that Alabama team drafted the following Spring after that 2007 season ended. Goose egged. Kiffin has one of the highest payrolls in college football. Big difference
Just sayin

Pete has been on the high road since all this started. He recruited well and he had his team ready in a pressure cooker. He knew the fan base wanted this. The guy has been a head coach for 6 games. 5 against ranked teams.

If anyone believes it’s all about talent then I refer you to Ron Zook. He left enough talent for 2 national titles. But he couldn’t squat one worthy win.

True. Winning SEC football games means more to us.

Accurate.

LSU fans harbored such misplaced ill-will at Saban for YEARS and now some of yall try to say Saban secretly wishes he had been at LSU the entire time he was at Bama winning championships.
I was a kid then but I remember thinking it was very odd how personal the LSU fanbase took Saban going to Alabama…that game in 2007 was kind of scary (at least for me). I can understand a level of resentment, but folks took it waaay too far.
The irony is the Ole Miss team and fans have a valid reason to feel a sense of betrayal and ill-will towards Kiffin with the way he handled leaving and it was far more personal and messy than Saban leaving the NFL for Alabama.

LSU fans trolled Ole Miss all offseason. Laughing at how they destroyed the Ole Miss program. Tried to cheat and had a judge helping them. Spent a gazillion dollars on this roster. And it all came down to this game. Ole Miss dragged their nuts across your nose, and it was beautiful. Now you guys get to pretend this game meant more to them than it did to you, which it obviously didn't.

I've never disliked LSU, and I miss our Thanksgiving Day game, but the fans on this board were insufferable all offseason. Couldn't have happened to a better fan base, in my opinion.
