JUCO would be awful for this kid. It's like the wild west at JUCO. He needs a strong willed coach/program to set him up to be successful.

Wherever he signs for this year, he won’t be there next. Everyone else moved on for a reason.

I am not sure I have ever seen a recruit go from being on every teams wish list in recruiting to the laughing stock in recruiting and not wanted by any team not desperate for a running back.

I mean at this point if you are confident that he isn't a risk to blow up your program then what is the harm? He comes in under strict guidelines - if he violates them, he's gone. If he somehow figures things out, well holy shite you got yourself a stud.
That isn't something that every program is going to decide is worth it - some don't need that risk because they have plenty of guys at the position (Alabama, for instance) - but some places could see him as the last piece and believe they have the structure to help him mature. And if not? Peace out.

Yeah I mean idk why Tennessee wouldn’t take a flyer on him under those circumstances. Pruitt seems to be a no bullshite kind of coach so I don’t think he would let Evans linger around if he continued being a head case.
We do not have a running back on campus with this upside (even though Gray will be very good imo) and if you can keep Evans in line, he could be an absolute monster year 1 running behind what very well could be the best OL in the SEC. He’s definitely worth the gamble for a team in Tennessee’s position imo

Phil has taken destitute children under his wing for 40+ years, rest assured young Zachariah will be down in Maryville baling hay if he misbehaves.
If anyone can keep him in line, it’s the Battle Captain

Yea, partnering him with Gray would be a good looking combo.
Of course, based on his behavior, the odds are slim that he shows up and behaves and learns enough to do anything in year 1 in a pro-style offense (especially with how condensed the pre-season will be). But, like you said, I'm not sure I see a reason not to take a flyer if you are somebody like Tennessee. For all his faults, it isn't like the kid is a criminal or beating women. He's just insanely immature.

Just make sure and take away their keys when they leave for the NFL.

Beat me to it. I think if this kid goes juco we never hear from him again.

I wanted Georgia to take a flyer on him. If I were a Tennessee fan, I’d want that even more. Should have a solid OL next year. Why not get yourself arguably the best back in this class to run behind them?

Kids High School coaches wouldn't want Evans back if he could go back.
