5. ZACHARY EVANS, RB (HOUSTON, TEXAS)

quote:

247Sports Composite rank: No. 14

The word: After delaying his announcement earlier this month, Evans is set to make it official between LSU and Texas A&M on Jan. 2 at the Under Armour All-America Game. Following a recent visit to College Station, the Aggies are gaining traction according to 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. The top running back this cycle, Evans comps to Melvin Gordon per 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins.

Biggins had this to say about his skill set: "Dynamically athletic running back with prototype size and frame potential relative to the position. Owns college-ready build with frame space to add more bulk. Flashes elite athleticism verified in combine testing environment. Makes it look easy, sometimes to the point that it's deceptive. Shows great top-end speed and outstanding close-quarters lateral mobility confirmed by a 3.91 shuttle. Flashes devastating start-stop-start ability in close quarters, coupled with impressive hesitation stutter."

I am betting he picks LSU, but may the best bag man win!!!

He needs to pick already

I'm sure everyone's getting tired of him playing games.

one insider on our board said he might have to go JUCO. I doubt that happens but can you imagine if Zach Evans was a non-qualifier and had to go JUCO after all of this?

:)

That individual needs his "insider" status revoked. Evans is an early entrant.

I don’t think he’s a non qualifier but last I saw he’s trying to get the scores he needs to be an EE.

Whoever gets him, good luck with that derecruitment process. Yeesh...

outstanding talent but if I could place a future bet right now that he transfers from wherever he starts, I would do it. Probably a Houston Cougar when it's all said and done

I just don't have a good feeling about this kid, either.

Has any other recruit had this many threads started just for them?

i think this is one of the rare recruitments of such a high profile kid that neither side feels super confident over on what his decision is going to be

Long Dawg,

If Pickens didn’t have to go the Juco route with y’all then he should qualify wherever he decides to go.

To the loser goes the "but, but, we didn't need him any way.....we've been processing commits for other recruits. Duh!".

Definitely not sure where he’s going. Whoever gets him is getting a good one though.

Good luck

His brain can’t get past 50-7 and he knows that the GAP b/w LSU >>>> aTm won’t close within the timeframe that he’s playing college ball.

This should be an easy decision for Evans...

If one year of being a great team is the only factor, then LSU you just get to name their 25 players.

Winning is a huge factor but there is so much more to it.
