His HS coaches son is the DB coach at UF. Sounds like his HS coach is trying to railroad Cowart.

Callahan is know for not playing games. He never did like how Cowart handled his recruitment. I would believe Callahan over 18 year kid.

I would be highly shocked if Callahan is messing with Cowart. I am not surprised with the current drama with the LOI.

Cowart's Mom and Cowart have both said that Cowart gave him the Auburn LOI to fax.

Isn't Cowart's 7-on-7 coach saying that Callahan banned him from the announcement ceremony because he wasn't pushing him to UF?

Defensive end Byron Cowart, the nation's No. 1-ranked prospect, has yet to send his letter of intent to the Auburn coaching staff after making his decision Wednesday morning on ESPNU.

According to Seffner (Fla.) Armwood High coach Sean Callahan, there is a good reason.

Callahan told ESPN.com that Cowart's letter of intent has yet to be faxed at the request of his family and mentor. According to Callahan, Cowart came to school confused Wednesday morning and undecided between Auburn and Florida.

Callahan has letters of intent to both Auburn and Florida in hand and said he will fax in Cowart's letter of intent to Auburn when the family says a final decision has been made.

Sean Callahan doesn't bullshite. It was pretty easy to see Byron was torn last night. Kid is going to AU imo, but I'm telling you this isn't on Callahan. No matter if his son is the coach at UF or not.

He just texted me and said he never signed the Florida letter. "Florida should not get a letter, I never signed theirs, I only signed Auburn's. So I think he might try to fax both and get me in trouble but I never signed Florida's"

ETA It looks like the HS coach is refusing to send the fax to Auburn.

These folks are draggin it out to get every ounce of attention. 'Cause once that LOI hits whichever campus he chooses, the spotlights are off the individual and he is nothing more than a student-athlete on a roster with a ton of hard work ahead of him. Excuse me while I >>

Is it that fricking hard to drive across town and fax your own damn LOI? Are there rules in place that says the HS coach has to send the shite in?

And WTF are people/schools using a damn fax machine to get this shite in? I can't remember the last time I actually "faxed" something to someone.

I 100% believe it. His son is a coach at UF. He is pushing hard for Cowart to go to UF. Every second he can keep the LOI out of Auburn's hands he has a chance to get him to UF.

But who wants THIS kind of attention? It's not good for anybody involved in this.
