Does anyone know where Alabama is practicing when they are in Louisiana? Did Saban pick Dutchtown High School and donate new equipment to make it practice caliber?

Teams dont get to choose. Saban and Bama were assigned dr. phillips high school last yr. The money donation was also done at the place they practiced in california for bcs nc game in '09.

I know... I was just teasing. The people who didn't know the process made such a to do after the '09 game, and then when they got Dr. Phillips last year, we all just chuckled.

If we get Winston, do any of you think he'll even play? He's a Dual Threat, which is a nice asset, but not what works in our usual system. Ground and pound with RBs and playing good D, while having smart, accurate QBs make good throws to lead them to 2800 yard seasons. I don't see him starting. AJ will start until he graduates, if Sims sticks around he'll get a year, then I don't know, but I don't see Winston starting.

I think we would develop some packages with him.

The reason Winston is so good is because he's smart and accurate, but also athletic. He isn't highly ranked based on mostly his running, it's actually the opposite. He wasn't MVP of the Elite 11 camp because he was athletic. It was because he was the best passer.

Winston has a good accurate arm. He can be a pocket passer

He has all the tools to be a very good qb in Bamas system.Very smart, can make all the throws and has elite size. His ability to run is just a extra weapon he can use if needed but he wont be running much here.

If he had your average pro styles speed/agility, he would be highly recruited.

He IS a pocket passer as far as I'm concerned. He doesn't jitterbug around trying to find a running lane, he reads his progression, then takes off if no one is open. His legs are just a bonus to an already good QB.

And I'm sure those legs won't go to waste at Bama. Like I said a few weeks ago, we won't know if a "dual threat" QB is a bad fit until Bama gets one. Bama has already deployed several reads, QB draw, and options over the last 2 years, imagine if there's actually a QB that can run in them.

Whether it be Winston this year or Jon McCrary next year, we'll all find out eventually...

Give me a 1-10 on whether you think Winston plays football or goes pro in baseball.

Our rivals site is Beyond pathetic. Do not link their articles. They have lost any and all connections they had with the program when porter and mcarthy left. Then they ran several stories last summer that made the staff furious. That Site is only good for finding out movie reviews. weathers and scarbrough are just worthless.

Actually since that is a pay article you should edit. Can't link pay articles.

That's just it. He can do both at the same time at FSU if the MLB team agrees to pay for his tuition. I'm leaning towards him going to bama though if the rumors about his stock dropping are true, but he has another full baseball season to redeem himself unless he enrolls early.

Yeah, glad to hear he's a pocket passer. Most of the vids I've seen only highlight his running ability. Until he could start it wouldn't hurt to use him like how OU uses Bell, or how Auburn attempts to use Frazier.
