These are your choices-

1: Late Bloomer

2: He is a legacy

3: Previous injury, scouts not giving fair shake

4: Just needs time in a college S/C program then he'll blossom

5: His High School is in weak division so scouts aren't giving him enough credit

#4 is my favorite.

He didn’t camp anywhere so he’s unknown.

When the next ratings come out he’s going to get a huge jump. He’s just underrated at the moment.

He’s only a 3 star because he doesn’t have the size. If he was 3 inches taller he would be the most wanted player in America’s

2 is my favorite.

Or when a missing on a < 3 star, "he doesn't fit our system".

This is at least a reasonable explanation.

Rivals hasn’t rated him yet so he’ll get a big bump then.

He's either unrated on rivals or espn, or both....which is true sometimes

Yes but it’s far more believable than the other excuses listed itt. Lot of schools have coaches who do not help get their kids noticed.

ESPN recruiting rankings suck. They never know what they are doing and miss on kids all of the time.

ESPN sucking is not an excuse, it is a fact. But I get your point.

Generally it just means LSU picked up a P/K or LS, so I’m ok with it.

I don't put any credence in what folks who never sniffed a d1 offer have to say about kids with d1 offers
