In May of 2021 Moczulski attended a Kohl’s Showcase Camp. It was his first Kohl’s ranking event. He scored 12 points on field goals and graded out at the 5.0 star level as a kicker. His leg strength showed up in both field goals and kick offs. His kick off score of 116.3 was outstanding! Moczulski also won the kick off competition at camp as well. Moczulski graded out as a top 10 kicker nationally. He might be the best kicker in the Western United States in the 2022 class. This summer will be an important time for Moczulski!

That special teams site has a very interesting way of ranking players
40 kickers qualify as 5 stars in the 2022 class?

I think they set levels for their grading. If no one meets the requirements then no one gets a 5*. If 100 kids can meet it, then 100 get it. Very different from 247.

If the kids pay enough at their camp they do.

To Porter's point, the $ for * is very real in the specialist game. I think 247 does a shite job of accounting for quality specialists since they're essentially all 2*, but the various kicker sites aren't much better either. Just kind of have to take it all with a grain of salt, or 37.

This is dumb then
That’s like saying if a QB can throw 60 yards he’s a 5*
Congrats on the kicker A&M
Meanwhile Ohio State is getting real serious with Dewberry

No, its not. Kicking distance is a key factor. You don't even know what they're being graded on and yet here you are saying its dumb.

They sure are. Do you think we're getting less serious because we recruited a kicker?

Goodness gracious, he looks like a baby.

When Texas A&M offers a scholarship to a punter or kicker, they had better be good as they'll have big shoes to fill. On Wednesday, they picked up one of 2022's best.
Mead (Wa.) Mt. Spokane's Ethan Moczulski is the newest member of the 2022 class and the only current member of the group from outside of the state of Texas. Blessed with a powerful kicking leg and an effective punter and placekicker, Moczulski was given a 5-star ranking by Kohl's Kicking Camps, one of the top evaluators of special teams talent in the nation.
Moczulski has already accepted an invitation to play in the 2022 Army All-American Game in San Antonio and had offers from the University of Washington, Washington State and Oregon State. He was also a first-team all-state selection earlier this year, as Washington state delayed its football season until the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Right but I just think you kind of lose all the value when you have that many, the other sites need to do a better job with special team players tho

Here's your problem. You're assuming those numbers will remain static. Much like 247 doesn't give out 5* far in advance, the numbers for 23 will increase as they have more camps and "see more kids". 22 Likely will continue to increase as well up until the cycle is over.
If I have 77 5*, then a 5* rating means nothing... more than half of college football teams do not have an "elite" kicker.
