How am I wrong? Richt won the SEC as did Kirby but neither won a NC. Please tell me what reality your narrative is in. Facts are facts.

They already did. Richt never played in a national Championship game.

It is going to be interesting to see how the draft plays out.

Saban and Kirby are recruiting the same sandbox (nationally speaking... they are going after elite recruits who want to play in the SEC).

These are 1A and 1B talents. Which staff gets their guys drafted higher? Is there a Pittman difference?

None of Saban’s former assistants have been able replicate what Saban has done. Kirby may have the best chance due to being with Saban the longest and having a state that not only produces high level recruits but always seem to want to play for UGA.

Kirby seems to also understand that his staff will be key. If can stay on track we may see the NC game be determined in Atlanta before the playoffs. But he must have that consistency and that is why the jury is still out in my opinion. He is off to a good start so we will see.

He hasn’t shown he can maintain a program but he has shown he can develop a championship level team that didn’t slide by weaker opponents like uga 2002 did.

Won last years SEC. Bama didn’t. Beat Auburn. Bama didn’t. Dawgs had to play an extra postseason game while Bama sat and rested and prepared. Bama was gifted by a crucial blown OS call late in the game that would have a nail in the coffin. Yet you talk.

This. And they had heir coach crying constantly to get them in the playoffs while in the not so distant past he was beating his gums about how if a team doesn’t win it’s conference it shouldn’t be in the playoffs.

They beat us when it mattered most. I can guarantee you would talk if the situations were reversed.

I disagree that nothing matters other than the National Championship (I guess I can understand why some Bama fans feel that way) but at the same time that’s the goal at the end of the day.

They beat us. Hopefully we’ll be able to return the favor soon enough.

This is probably the most "rant" thing that pops up constantly... as though any accomplishment short of winning a national championship is pure shite... there are 130ish teams in the FBS... so basically according to the rant it's 1 and then a pile of shite. Apparently they all bought into Ricky Bobby's dad's high musings of "if you ain't first... you're last."

Since when did winning the Rose Bowl and the SEC championship and taking a team to OT in a National Championship become a non accomplishment. Apparantly all the recruits were satisfied with our efforts.

The missed call that gave Bama the NC

The correct call is a dead ball false start, replay the punt. So, maybe Georgia blocks the 2nd punt I guess. But probably not.

Either way, in no "make the right call" world does that punt block stand.

It’s good that we agree that the refs missed multiple calls that game because if they didn’t the outcome most likely would have been different. Round 2 coming here shortly.

- Two missed called that washed on the punt block, so there was nothing that changes the outcome there
- Two facemask calls missed, one on both side on 3rd downs that would have extended drives (one of Tua that was on the cover of SI, one on Swift I believe)
- Najee tackled in the endzone on the Ridley TD, but we scored anyway so nothing that would have changed the game there

Not sure where the clear "outcome would have been different" breakout is, but sure whatever gets you going.

I would argue that the missed false start by Najee Harris on the tying touchdown pass was more impactful.

I am sure we benefitted from some bad calls to, so there is no guarantee that a perfectly called game (if that is such a thing) would have ended in our favor anyways.

If there had not been a false start on the punt I'd readily admit that we were given extra life by the refs when the game probably would have been over. It's just plain lucky that we also jumped on that play (again, assuming a "perfectly called game").

I rewatched that game yesterday. Multiple personal fouls was missed on Alabama. I’m not trying to nitpick but repeatedly striking our QB in the head and no one sees it? Come on.
