UGA already has Anderson and will get Walker or Reese. Doesn't really matter which one. With Walker liking Pruitt and their significant lack of talent at the position I could easily see him going there.

I think Walker has been really hard to follow. None of us will probably really know until he sends in the paperwork. I'd venture to say from what I've seen and heard, that it's between Tennessee and UGA.

Play nice...I was making the comment back to the guy who said Auburn was in it bigger than UGA.

I think UGA have been grasping in regards to Walker and think he will end up at UT.

You guys posted in this thread that UGA tried to push his paperwork through to him because he wanted to sign in Dec with you. But your staff could not get out to him and yet Walker is quoted saying he could not have signed in December because he had yet to file his paperwork with the NCAA Clearing House. So a little BS there since your staff has nothing to do with that end of the situation.

OK? So maybe Georgia explored the possibility of getting the clearinghouse paperwork pushed through, and it wasn’t possible. I don’t know. Why would that matter anyway?

I still don’t know how that is UGA “grasping”

That was the information that was "leaked out" during ESD... validity aside, it doesn't change that the comments were made from "insiders". I don't know how good we sit with him right now, but if he makes the visit this weekend, I like our chances at least. If not, as others have said, we took enough at the position that it likely would be a miss that doesn't "hurt" as much... particularly if we were to land Reese in that slot as a replacement.

No one could sign him in December without him being cleared so it does matter when UGA insiders are saying Walker wanted to sign with them when he knew and stated he could not sign with anyone. Grasping I see UGA started gaining more confidence with him ending up at UGA once the insiders reported about him wanting to sign early but it appears they were wrong unless you have a quote form him somewhere stating that and I missed. So that inside leak was grasped onto.

I think UGA and UA have to many in front of him returning and why UT seems to be the place he lands.

Also find it curious Walker said we tried to get him papers to sign early but I believe a college can not send those papers until they can confirm he was cleared. Something seems off with this IMO.

I would argue that UGA doesn't have too many in front of him *returning*... We have Deandre Walker at OLB as the only player with "significant" playing time. Behind that, Walter Grant saw limited duty and definitely is going to have a bit of a leg up... but outside of that, we have guys that either redshirted last year (Beal) or are brand new (Anderson, Ojulari, Cox - when he's not at DE)... It certainly may be a crowded depth chart, but it's not like he's coming into a room where the starters are all decided. I'd imagine that's how UT is trying to recruit *against* us... but the validity is a little sketchy.

Yeah, that whole thing was weird... it's hard to fault UGA insiders for repeating it when it's comments that Walker made publicly as well... that schools were trying to get him to sign paperwork during the early signing period. All in all, a little wonky, but what is recruiting without some silliness.

UGA started gaining confidence when he visited in November. The pushing papers through thing was a non-event that was exaggerated during the general chaos of UGA's early signing day.

Georgia is scheduled to host Walker as its sole official visitor this weekend.

I don't think I've ever seen this before. I would think that would be kinda awkward.

We don't have very many targets left, and the others have visited already.

There will be other prospects on campus (juniors, commits, etc) and the early enrollees are already there so shouldn't be that weird.

There will be plenty of '19 and '20 guys on campus. Also hearing he is bringing his whole family.

We shall see...

Our depth chart at linebacker is not intimidating at the moment. At a minimum a guy as talented as Walker cracks the two deep and we rotate guys a lot so he would get plenty of playing time either way. He would probably start at UT. Bama has the strongest depth chart of the contenders for his signature.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think any fanbase feels good about Mr. Walker. Based on the fact that he is from Cordele, and all the different things that I have heard, I am thinking he will not be part of our class. Cordele has not been good to the DAWGS recently. We have 3 spots left provided that we get the two committed to us already.

1 WR, 1 DL/LB, and 1 Secondary. There is a chance it is just two spots. We have done in homes with like 8 guys, do can’t really tell what is going on yet.
