Gaston’s kid set a MS state record with a 61 yard FG on Friday night. Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

I had to go look up the various records. The Texas in-state record in 62 yards by
David Leaverton Midland vs.Odessa Permian, 1995
Ralph Heaten El Paso Irvin vs. El Paso Bowie, 1992
Russell Wheatley Odessa Permian vs. Longview, 1975
The national record was set in 1968 by Dirk Borgognone at 68 yards.

That kid 's got all the physical attributes just needs to work on and develop the mental side of kicking these next few years. Whatever college he attends will help hone that skill. Good luck to him and hopefully he's kicking FGs on Sundays by 2029.
