1. 247

2. Rivals

3. ESPN

So yeah, it’s:

1. UGA
2. Bama
3. LSU

Fitting.

Anyone see something wrong with this?

Hopefully this is the cycle that forces Rivals to change their team ranking formula.

So we have the same number of 5-stars, six more 4-stars, two less 3-stars and a higher rating per recruit yet Georgia is ranked higher?

That's incredible. How do they even calculate their rankings?

They only use the top 20 signees of each class to formulate their team rankings. I think their overall player evaluations are fine. Their team ranking formula is broken, as evidenced by that.

I just saw where they also listed Alabama as one of today's "Losers" because we finished #2 "after being a virtual lock for the recruiting national championship following early signing day."

For reference, there have been 5 total classes in the history of Rivals Recruiting rankings that have finished with 20+ signees that averaged 4.0 or better. There have been only 10 classes that have ever finished with a 4.0 star average or better.

It's literally one of the best classes of all time. And they just called it one of today's biggest losers.

Still butt hurt over the Rose Bowl. Have fun being on a sec message board while wishing you were actually in the conference.

Their avg ranking is also incredibly misleading. A high level 4 star should not have the same ranking as a low level 4 star. 247 does that really well.

FWIW, I think it’s dumb Rivals only calculates the top 20. Bama has the #1 class IMO.

Is it odd to you that a UGA fan would post that we finished with the #1 class on one of the services? Why would that bother an Oklahoma fan?

I noticed that yesterday and thought WTF? Very strange, but 247 composite is the real ranking.

Tennessee adding Deangelo Gibbs and Solomon is also going to help them become more competitive. The roster overhaul by Pruitt has been impressive. I figure UT, UF and UGA is going to be a bloodbath the next 5 years. I think UT is still a year or two away but the influx of talent is noticeable.

This may be more common than you realize and it happens on both services. Compare Nebraska and Arkansas on either service for reference.

Its really pretty pointless to try and rank recruiting in exact numerical order. Not only is it hypothetical and subjective, but the difference in being ranked anywhere within about 6-7 spots is meaningless.

Ranges make sense...Top 10 class, 10-20, 20-30...all about the same.

Now...how the hell does Ole Miss sign like 30 players? Weren't they supposed to be on probation?
