"A practice of asking a school for a fee to simply visit campus has emerged; asking for $5,000 just to visit has become common."

The players that are asking for money to visit are usually the ones you see alabama, Georgia, lsu,and others not pursue any longer.

The blame lies squarely on Alabama and the NCAA. Cheat with impunity and you get shite like this

Well that's just not true. Jeremiah Smith is getting 5K every time he visits FSU. It is well known. He is also the best WR in the recruiting class and everyone wants him.

These kids hold all the leverage with no limits in place anywhere

Recruits have been paid to visit places for years. They're also paid to not visit places. Nothing new, just above board.

honestly if you take your whole family somewhere for a weekend that's what it costs to do it really comfortably.

not saying they are not pocketing a couple grand too but really it seems very fair to me for asking them to take a whole weekend to come out.

they are asking these kids make football their whole lives, ostensibly.(not that every kid does that but thats what the coaches want)

And honestly teams like UT probably take those guys right now. Once we are more established, assuming that happens at some point you can taper off on that. That was what happened with Jordan Ross, and Bama, Georgia, and UF all stopping his recruitment.

Just recruit kids who come to your camps it’s not that hard .You can’t recruit every 4-5 star anyhow there are plenty of players who can make a difference Imo…. But you got to play some of the nil game to keep your current players. The schools that pay 100 of thousands for recruits are not going to be places that last long term.

I got downvoted like hell when I pointed this out in the last thread. It's weird how people think this shite is new.

If schools stop giving money to highschool kids that’s would help …. 5 star or not you earn everything and nothing should be promised . The schools who are giving 5k just for a visit need to look in the mirror and don’t say all schools are doing it because that’s false too . Money should be given to the best players currently on roster not some freshman or senior in high school who has done nothing .

Sure, Jan. Those schools have been paying players since the dawn of time and would do anything to win.

Quit being a hater.

It's fair, and it helps them finance the weekend visit for their family.

You are just jealous these kids get easy money.
