Except that's exactly what you prtrayed in your OP by stating there is no logical, legal reason these guys would sign with Ole Miss.
I seriously hope this is you trolling, otherwise as a fellow Bama fan I'm embarassed for you.

Exactly. Instead of looking at college rosters, they ought to show these kids NFL rosters. If you have the talent, they will find you. You don't have to go to Alabama to play in the NFL. How else do you explain Danny Woodhead or some of these other D3 guys that make it?

Define what a "legitimate" reason is without providing some bullshite fan-centric answer.
That's the problem with your line of thinking. You just assume that most people love the Tide as much as you do and for the same reasons, and everybody that doesn't is being illogical or stupid.
There are a lot of factors that go into a recruit's decision. WE DONE GOT A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHURP PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLL isn't always one of them.

DC if everything you say is true why isn't Freeze recruiting "better"? Not counting Hampton you guys only got 5 4/5 star guys committed to you. Compared to Bama which has 17. So where is the depth? Don't you think recruiting like you were under Nutt with the edition of just a few really high profile guys isn't a sign something is up? Where are the 4 star guys lining up to play for Freeze? Why is the class sitting at 9th in conference?

He is recruiting better than his predecessor...
And your question is a non sequitur. It isn't the logical conclusion to my statement. My argument that there are a myriad of factors that play into a recruit's decisions doesn't naturally lead to the conclusion that Ole Miss should be "recruiting 'better'" per se.
So, really, the whole premise of your post is flawed. Go away.

But by your logic if we are paying them why'd they leave in the first place? Isn't that your whole premise of this thread? Do you believe they went to Alabama for free then?
Would you be surprised if he did believe that? Because I wouldn't.

If Freeze is a great recruiter why are you guys 8/9 in conference?

Orgeron is a great recruiter and he didn't come close to this kind of recruiting success.
Yeah he did.
Right now Ole Miss has the #15 class in the country per 247. O did pull in the #16 class at one point. This year's class is pretty much on par with what O did.
And Freeze has a WINNING RECORD to boot. So whereas O had a lot to sell, Freeze has that on top of actually winning football games.

Alabama fans can't understand why someone would like another school. It's because most Alabama fans know nothing about the school and only see it as a football team.

What is delusional about anything I've stated?
You literally believe that Alabama is objectively better than (presumably) ever other SEC program, and that anyone who feels otherwise is being irrational.
That's pretty goddamned delusional.

Between Alabama and Ole Miss it is certainly debatable

You're too stupid to understand that you're not arguing anything that can be disputed, and not from an "it's ironclad truth" angle, but rather a "it's totally subjective" angle.
Your argument is akin to me saying "Anchorman is the funniest goddamn movie ever and anybody who thinks otherwise is WRONG." It's neither a debate nor an assertion of anything factual. It's just you letting your biases and opinions overtake what I hope would otherwise be better judgment.

I'm pointing out the "WTF"-ness of several recruitments of high profile players over the last several years.

Well, considering that we finished like 10th in the conference, it's pretty good.
And we might be 8/9 right now, but we're top-20 nationally and rustling the frick out of some Alabama jimmies, so don't act like we're recruiting poorly.
ETA: I mean, isn't the whole goddamned premise of this thread that Ole Miss is recruiting abnormally well? And you're going to argue literally the exact opposite now?

Actually, it's 14-11. Dumbass didn't count our bowl win last year.
At this point in his Ole Miss career, Ed was 7-16, if we're going to make that comparison.

Well obviously it is if there are players who are actively choosing to go to Ole Miss over Alabama.
Or, what, you're gonna sit here and tell us that you know what's best for CJ Hampton, Robert Nkemdiche, Tony Conner, Laremy Tunsil, and Laquon Treadwell? And you know this better than THEY do?
This is why recruiting is so goddamn dumb. Because there are literally fans who think they know what's best for COMPLETE frickING STRANGERS all because of their observations as a football fan.
