There are just so many schools so close that heavily recruit Georgia. Many closer to them than Athens.
We do have more of the top 150 than any school atm.
UGA and AU are basically same distance from Hartsfield airport.
AU, FSU and Clemson are all 30 minutes from the State Line.
UTe and USCe both less than 1.5 hours out.
Just an easy market to get into and recruit.

Everybody recruits Georgia though. Seems like you'd have to fight pretty regularly.

KJ Bolden, Sammy Brown, and Landen Thomas.
We did want Bolden badly but safety might be one of the least valued positions for us on the field. He is a great talent, no doubt, but we have several good safeties.
Sammy Brown is, again a great talent, but we have tons of linebackers, and picked up more this year.
Landen Thomas? Yeah, we wanted him, but TE is probably the most loaded position we have.
We have always recruited outside the state a ton, and are doing so this year. As long as we bring in top classes I don't really care where the players come from.
It's interesting, maybe, but not consequential.

quote:UGA will be alright on the recruiting front. They have top classes year in year out. Agreed that the key to their success is top tier recruiting.
Georgia was bringing in top 2 classes every year before they won back to back titles. It's why they ended up winning those championships.

I know there are a lot of Georgia HS coaches with some animosity toward UGA for “passing over” some local kids to sign top national prospects over the past 5ish years. I don’t know whether that’s bit UGA this year or not.
The HS coach sentiment seems to be that UGA should be singularly focused on local guys. Of course, they don’t seem to have any issue with the players looking outside state lines, so their sentiment is very one-sided.

Yea it’s not consequential until it is. Having so many out of state kids raises, even if it’s slightly, the chance of attrition.
I am confident Smart would like to see this little trend reversed. Like I said, it’s just interesting, it’s obviously going well for UGA.

This is true, and we have seen some leave to play closer to home. AD Mitchell, for one.
The key is to continue to recruit at a high level and replace those that leave.
quote:I'm sure he would like to get any player he wants, but he is the one that opened up the national recruiting philosophy. As long as we perform at a high level I think he will be good with missing some in state talent. If/when we begin to falter it could become an issue. the thing that draws so many good players from around the country is the fact we are winning big. If we stumble 2-3 years in a row that could at least semi dry up.

We’ve definitely struggled in the ‘24 class landing the top instate kids. ‘14 is also slightly down in terms of overall talent.
‘25 in GA is LOADED though and I expect Kirby to singularly focus on having a GA heavy class.

It’s possible we do such a good job of weeding out a specific type of recruit, one that is conceited and impatient, that our rate of attrition might be lower.
With that said, We did so well in the nakobe dean for Owen pappoe trade, so we had attrition a year early at LB, but I don’t think that’s your point.

Things are changing as NIL gets older. Now that everybody can do what Saban and Kirby were already allowed to get away with it’s not so easy for them. I think you will see it evening out more and more

You are one insecure human being .I rarely post but I do try to read the recruiting board…unfortunately all I see in every thread is you screaming through a megaphone about how big a vagina you got. Take this shite somewhere else…please

Interesting. So, tell which of these schools has been on probation for paying players before it was legal.

quote:Same. I'll actually edit the above post. I was interested in checking on a top recruit we were after and instead found a UGA fan talking classless shite about AU for no reason, it rubbed me the wrong way and I decided to call him out on it.

quote:Nonsense. It's one thread, calling out a UGA fan talking shite about AU's staff to prove it with actual data. I've probably posted on less than 10 threads on the recruiting board ever. If you want to improve the board, start by checking your own fanbase talking shite.

Classless shite for saying UGA develops defensive talent better than AU’s staff
You are acting like a gaping vagina posting this shite over and over.

So, talking about actual football on a sports board is classless according to you
The other poster is right, you are definitely an insecure little man. You bled this over to the rant and now into a third thread. Maybe talking football isn’t for you.

Going to assume you have reading comprehension skills. Notice I wrote “get away with”. Everybody else gets investigated and punished

"GA is better at developing defensive talent than AU’s current staff. Which they are by a wide margin"
"If you go to GA and excel, it’s guaranteed your are going higher than if you did that at Auburn or non-Bama"
Most learn from their parents, but this falls under the category of shite talking. I'd encourage you to read Psalm 39 - "if you can't say something nice" etc... Psalm 39
I asked you for supporting data, and when the data didn't support your shite talking, you began to flame and troll. Please be respectful on this board.

Dude. Don't open cans of worms, unless you are prepared to eat those worms.
Auburn has won two National Championships. They were on probation for paying players during the first and under investigation for paying a player during their second. If i were you I would slink out of this thread.
