AJC released an article today stating that Warrior knows two of the schools that will make the cut for his top five schools: tOSU and UA.

He also said that UT and UGA would likely make his list.

He also recently told AJC this:

quote:

“I can follow in my Dad’s footsteps but the word legacy is all I hear,” Warrior said. “That gets to me because I want to be my own person. They just see me as Dale Carter’s son. They say I’m a good player or whatever but all I hear is Dale Carter this-and-that. I don’t know if Tennessee doesn’t really just regard me as just Nigel Warrior.”

There's some rumors going around that Alabama leads. I guess we'll see.

ETA: Landing Warrior would definitely take the sting out of losing Shyheim Carter.

I've read some of his interviews and this kid is one of the most honest recruits I've ever seen. He doesn't beat around the bush or mince words, he gets straight to the point and says what's on his minds. No games. I respect him a ton. One of my favorite recruits this cycle.

In all honesty, we all know where he ends up.

Can any of the Vol fans clarify why he doesn't use the last name of his father, Dale Carter?

While we would love to have him, I don't think we get him. I haven't really heard a lot about him lately.

I think it's Bama, UT, UGA in that order right now. He's a big Kirby Smart fan, so that would be something to watch after the season.

I think the "legacy" issue is a bigger deal than UT fans want to admit.

This was posted on 247 a few hours after AJC's article

quote:

Tennessee also remains a strong contender for Warrior, at least in part because of his family ties to the Vols, and he likes what he has heard from Tennessee coach Butch Jones’ staff. “Of course, that is where my dad played,” he said. “I would love to play at Tennessee and follow in my father’s footsteps. It is a blessing to have Tennessee offer me as Nigel Warrior, and not just as Dale Carter’s son. “The Tennessee staff is amazing and very cool. They try to get to know their players for who they are — not just what they can do on the field.”

If Tennessee goes through this 3 year cycle of so many legacies without getting back to being a power, they never will. How in the world can every single legacy be coming through at the same time? It's unreal. That being said, Bama leads privately for Warrior and Deangelo Gibbs and have for several weeks now.

LSU... Thats DBU. Thats all I have to say," Warrior responded.

Settling for Bama ain't too bad of a bad deal, however.

Glass shoulder, and Brown, Hump, and Sheff are more track guys than football players, but go ahead...

If they only cared about what their players did on the field, they would treat them all like garbage.

Did you just say Bobby Humphrey's son is more a track guy than a football player?

You are a dumbass.
