Mizzou basketball recruiting might have just gotten a boost.

New coach Kim Anderson filled out the rest of his staff by hiring Rob Fulford from Huntington Prep.

Obviously, a lot of the newness will wear off in time, but word seems to be that it puts Mizzou at least in the conversation for 5* 6'10" 220 PF Thomas Bryant from Huntington Prep, ranked #10 overall in the 2015 class by ESPN. Also being mentioned that Mizzou may now be in the running with Montaque Gill-Ceasar, a 4* 6'5" 215 SF from Huntington Prep who's ranked #41 overall by ESPN.
Apparently also puts Mizzou in contention for 2016 5* 6'6" 226 PF, Miles Bridges from, yepp, Huntington Prep, ranked #8 overall by ESPN. The other name that's being bantied about as having a solid relationship with Fulford, along with Fuller, is Thon Maker, the #1 overall player in 2016 per ESPN, a 5* 7'0" 210 C. Apparently, Maker will visit Mizzou tomorrow and meet with Fuller, Fulford and obviously Anderson. Hoping it helps our chances with Jayson Tatum as well.
Obviously, won't land all, and may not get any of these recruits, but I think it's a great hire by Anderson, who could have gone a much "safer" route with his last assistant spot.

Be prepared to pay up for thon. He used to go to high school in Nola until his handler thought he could get a better price if he were at one of those prep schools.
Immense talent, but complete scum around him.

It's an exciting time and kinda funny how we all thought the Kim Anderson era would be about slowly developing four year players into a cohesive bunch by their junior and senior seasons...and instead right off the bat he has assembled a staff that is getting interest from NBA-ready high level superstars of the type who would play 1 year and then leave. I think at the end of the day what it tells you more than anything is that Kim Anderson both wants to win and understands the current landscape and the Kentucky model, for better or worse, is what's winning right now in college hoops. Yes four year players, senior leadership, develop a program culture blah blah blah...but if you can get any of the elite players just freaking try for it, all that other stuff be damned.

Forgot about Thon. Big dogs already on him. Between Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, and Duke.

That's where the smart money is. Supposedly both Fuller and Fulford are pretty tight with his "guardian" though. I'd give Mizzou a 0% chance at this point but at least we're getting mentioned when we weren't before.
kU seems to think he's theirs to lose from talking to some kU friends. Obviously, they see things through beaker tainted glasses though.

Teki Gill-Caesar, a four-star wing, will take an official visit to Missouri on Monday, per a source.

New Missouri assistant Rob Fulford coached Teki Gill-Caesar at Huntington Prep. High-level scorer.
Now, let's see if it pays off and we can actually get a commitment.

Jon Octeus just committed to UCLA so if Gill-Caesar wants to reclassify to 2014 the spot would seem to be there for the taking.

The question is who will pay the most

OT, but what is the recruiting situation for the women? I thought that Gatorade POY said she would not be staying home. East will be a beast next season.

Don't follow it closely, but Miss Show-Me Basketball (best player in the state of Missouri) is coming in next year.

Added what I guess is an all-American JUCO guard.

Best I can tell, there is one other freshman (or is it freshwoman) on the roster, Bri Porter (#41 player on ESPNW something or other). Have no idea how else to follow womens basketball recruiting so really can't help out more than what I found quickly on the Mizzou website.

Thon to Kentucky.
Probably. Or somewhere besides Mizzou. Of those guys I rattled off, Thon would absolutely shock me if he went to Mizzou. Hell, it shocked me he even visited Mizzou.

You might be talking about the 2015 class, Napheesa Collier, #5 player in the nation on espnw from incarnate word.
From that class, Mizzou has the #16 player Sophie Cunningham and #40 Cierra Porter
