We are gonna have to hammer Texas. That state is loaded. Instate is loaded at wr and DT. Few others spread out at other spots but the heavy hitters will be OOS. That usually doesn't mean a top 3 class for us. Hope that changes.

Nah that's the difference in what O is trying to do and what Miles couldn't do is consistently recruit elite players across the entire roster and putting and emphasis on QB/OL/DL/LB.
Les Miles did not do this on a consistent basis. He also got many top 15 or 20 guys at their position on the LOS but never the top 10 guys consistently. That's what O is trying to do. We have 3 players who are top 3 at their position already and looking at 4 maybe more. Thomas, Emery and Stingley. If we get Sopsher that'll make 4.
I'm not sure if Miles has ever done that while also having decent depth already on the roster and more projected to commit and sign the next year. We already have 2 top 10 DLman committed and could end up signing the top 2. Jackson and Guillory. We signed the number 1 WR last year, a top 10 WR with him and highly touted others with them. He signed a top 10 DT QB while having two top 10 QBs already on the roster with two more top 10 QBs committed for 2020. He also signed another top 10 WR in 2019 and has Boutte committed who will likely be top 10 with more behind him.
We have Wire who I think will be an all SEC RT with Rosenthal who I think will be an all SEC LT RSing now. To really show he's taking this thing to another level he needs to sign two top ten Otackles in 2020 and get all the DLman we are after. We'll get our share of DBs, RBs, WRs and OGs. Sign more rushers, more elite corners, a couple of safeties, 2 LB to go with the OLman, DLman and QBs we will get and that type of class will put us right there in the mix to compete for the west.
These new guys aren't going to be scared of Bama. They ready to take that title back to LSU where it belongs. If Parrish develops into what I think he might, man we will have everything we've been missing since Saban and possibly more than Saban even had. The problem is Saban has already built that power house that no one can surpass, only get even with. You will not get a better roster than what Saban has built unless you strike it lucky.
If you look at the 3*s that LSU signed last year and this year, those guys are extremly talented players. LSU needs to finish with a rusher or two, Sop and either Parker or another OT with Smith and this class will be complete top to bottom with zero weaknesses. Yes LSU recruited well all these year BUT it was never well rounded if you go back and look at it. These classes have filled needs with elite players.
I think the S&C team needs to spend time with the OL and DL for us to have immediate success but if guys like Shelvin, Livingston, Cotton, Logan, Thomas and the rest of our DL work hard to get into top shape and the OL develops, it could be a very interesting next 3 years. The SEC needs that other team competing with Bama and what better team than LSU to be the one who does that.

Excellent start. Now we need to lock up more linemen.

If all coaches were equal LSU would be a top 3 program in the country

LSU has always had great talent though. Gotta get the QB thing figured out.
Thank you for the advice.

#1 2020 QB taking in tigers bowl practice could be huge for the tigers!

Finally starting to realize what it will take

LSU is doing well, and so is Bama; but UGA will probably have the #1 class next year.

Mainly instate prospects for y'all in 20?

In state prospects are solid for UGA. Likely get 3 of the 4 5* prospects and 7-8 of the top 10 in Georgia. I've also heard to watch Kendall Milton and Mekhail Sherman.
Overall, I expect 9 top 50 players and 5 5*s, which would be enough to get to #1 with a full class.
