if we feel good about RN, Lawson

Until Auburn hires a DLine coach no one should feel confident about Lawson. If he likes the coach he is ours. Proximity to home and happiness with Auburn as a school have been huge sticking points with Lawson

Whether you want to admit it or not we are in the game with Lawson, especially if RN announces for us sooner than NSD. Huge selling point for #1 and #1 DE's to play together to avoid double teams and such.

So are 20 other schools. But Auburn is number 1 right now, and that's what counts.

Lawsons dad said it was down to Ole Miss, Auburn, UNC, USC, and maybe Tennessee... and that while not decommited, he is looking around.

If things were an equal playing field and other schools had as good a chance as Auburn he would have opened his commitment back up.

He didn't, he is sticking with Auburn unless we screw up our DLine hire. That is what he and his father have said. He is ours to lose not yours to get.

He is definitely looking around. Have you ever thought he is feeding your recruiting guys bs just to keep the backlash of a decommitment at bay until he decides where he is going?

True. But we aren't claiming he is ours to lose. The only reason he gave us a chance was because of RN. He obviously has been looking around and the only people who think he isn't are Auburn people.

He's still committed to Auburn and is waiting on our hire at DL coach. I'd say based on that alone, he's our's to lose. I'm sure he probably is looking around at other options if he doesn't like who we hire.

I think y'all are relying in that too much. He won't shut down his recruitment when you make a hire like you think.

I can only go off of what his father said in articles. You seem mighty sure of yourself though.

Carl Lawson Sr., the father of 5-star defensive end Carl Lawson, told Rebels247 on Saturday that Ole Miss will receive one of his son’s officials and that the Rebels are very much in the race as National Signing Day approaches.

quote:

“He likes Ole Miss a lot,” said Lawson Sr. “He’s extremely fond of Coach (Chris) Kiffin and Coach (Matt) Luke also. You see, Peyton Barber and him are very good friends.”

Not saying we get him, but we are certainly in it.
