You can guarantee here that he may not be talking to other schools (I would bet a large amount he is however), but someone close to him can be and that part is how you get around all of this. Almost like a coach saying he has not talk to a school when a job is open, but his agent has been. Different ways to handle that loophole.
Evans could simply be asking out of LOI (If Georgia). If that is scenerio is true, I could see that part as well.
Regardless, there is something going on behind the scenes one way or another , there is a hang up on why this is not over.
My guess is he does not end up in Athens is my gut feeling. I would say LSU or Texas AM if I had to pick one with my job depending on it.

Thanks for the information and I guess we will just see at this point. One of the hardest recruitments to follow ever.

Can we just be done with this kid? There’s no way he’s on any campus for more than one season, no matter where he ends up. This is beyond ridiculous. Let him go to JUCO.

Yeah this recruitment has been very interesting to say the least. Can't get a read on him.

UGA offered with the bag
UGA slipped up or something to that effect and the bag offer was retracted
UGA self reports recruiting violations and Evans wants out
Just reading the tea leaves this could very well be the case.

Mansell: My thoughts on Zach Evans (part 1)
Did confirm with multiple sources in the last 24 hours that the school that Zachary Evans signed with turned in his LOI. I do believe that is Georgia if you are asking me.
Can he get out of an LOI? Yes he could but the deal is here is team he signed with holds all the leverage for the time being. So there is two ways to look at this.
Is the school (Georgia as a example here) deciding what to do here? Maybe they are trying to do their due dilgence on the situation on the state championship weekend or something else? I am just thinking out loud here. The kid apologized to some coach, for something on TV at Under Armour. He confirmed he talked with Kirby Smart a few days earlier. . . (part 2 in OP)

Self reported violations from 2017 and 2018 regarding the UGA bookstore giving out free and discounted merchandise? Ya, pretty sure that’s not it.

It’s telling that Mansell doesn’t think he ends up in the class. Will be interesting to see if he uses the portal or UGA voids the LOI.

UGA offers big bag. Evans signs UGA's NLI and UGA quickly submits it.
LSU or A&M offers huge bag. Evans tells UGA to match huge bag or release him from NLI.
Evans gets kicked off HS team.
Will UGA match huge bag, release Evans from NLI or stand pat?
Just reading the tea leaves this could very well be the case.

ETA: Or it could be as simple as buyer's remorse, wanting to be closer to Houston at A&M or LSU. His grandmother lives in BR. Or it could be that UGA has 2nd thoughts after Evans had another significant conflict with his HS coach(es).

Level 3 violations got Ole Miss their sanctions? LSU fans crying about recruiting is hilarious.

If he does use the portal, I'd bet that he gets a waiver to play immediately. He shouldn't after all the crap he has pulled on UGA and all the other teams, in addition to his off-field issues, but he probably will since the NCAA hands out waivers like candy.

Seems like they give them to QB’s more than other positions. Luke Ford had a legitimate claim and got denied. If he gets off it could set up a bad precedent in the future.

Well I hope the kid sticks with Georgia. LSU needs a running back definitely but not Evans. He probably won't play a whole season at any school

If not Georgia, I think it's going to be Texas A&M. Seems like with what has gone on, there may be some burned bridges with LSU now, and not just the fanbase.
If it's Texas A&M, from what I've read, I'm not sure there's any way he sticks for longer than a season. As it seems like staying that close would leave him close to bad influences.

When this kid decides he wants to be elite, he will be incredible. I don’t think it’s at his first stop either. May go the Isaiah Crowell route. He tore it up at Alabama St and got drafted.
