Orgeron's #1 rule is team first mentality...and you think he will go out of his way to recruit the 180 of that for his team?

Did a bunch of CBs just come in for Evans to A&M? I don’t have 247 access.

I have to say Kirby is doing the right thing here. You have Milton and don’t need anything messing up a stellar class.

Here's the latest and what seems to be the general consensus.

He signed his LOI with Georgia. Georgia and Evans have mutually parted ways for whatever reason. I believe, and most believe, that its a problem with his grades. If Georgia submitted his LOI and he would end up not being eligible, they wouldn't be able to fill that spot with another player because of SEC rules with LOI's.

But since he did sign his LOI, he is not allowed to sign another LOI, even in February. Other schools are also not allowed to contact him directly until Georgia officially releases him from his LOI.

I also believe he isn't an early enrollee, so his recruitment could drag on until summer since he's not allowed to sign another LOI and would only be bound to a school when he enrolls.

I don't think its a character issue, I just think he isn't making the grades he needs to in order to get in and Georgia isn't willing to take that risk on him for whatever reason.

247 CB's have him predicted to A&M today, others put theirs on Foggy. Our guys have said that Jimbo will still recruit him after Georgia officially lets him out of his LOI.

If he signed an LOI, a grades explanation makes no sense to me. Georgia will be losing the spot anyway, like you said. What's the harm, from their perspective, in just waiting it out at that point?

I wonder if it's grades and some kind of violation where Georgia can no longer take him. Or maybe he cheated on his ACT...something along those lines makes more sense than he just doesn't have the grades.

It’s not grade/ACT related. It is most definitely the two physical altercations with his coach.

NCAA Bylaws don't provide for a school to get the signings limit spot back for a non-qualifier (NCAA academic clearance). I'm certain of that. If Evans requests and receives an LOI release from UGA, I think UGA gets the signing spot back, provided he hasn't already been ruled a nonqualifier. But I'm not 100% certain of that.

most definitely

Most definitely as in you actually know this to be true?

Or most definitely as in you very strongly think this had to be the case based on all of the context clues?

Most definitely as in that’s what came from 2 very reliable insiders on another site. Kirby told him no because of the 2nd incident.

Thanks for sharing. This makes me think the altercation got physical. High character move by Kirby. Is there a chance UGA gets the spot back?

I was under the impression UGA has a deadline to file the noi. I believe it was 14 days after ESD. If they dont, UGA cant keep a kid in limbo. Evan's would be allowed to sign with someone else... of course that cant happen til feb Now.

Saban would collect 90 LOIs and only file 25 thus having the rest tied up? I dont think so.

The fact that we havnt heard anything from Evan's tells me the papers have been filed with the sec as 247 reported, and there isn't anything Evan's can do but try to get out.

I think that means he has to sit out or go juco.
