Yeah, we pay people and Arkansas doesn't. The Razorbacks run a clean program with guys that go to school to play football and only receive what is permissible by NCAA scholarship guidelines. Meanwhile, Ole Miss players only came to Oxford because a Benz and cashiers check came along with it.

Thought the old grey shirt rule came in here. you can pay your own way, but can't hit the field. If you do you count against the 85 rule. not sure about the annual signing rule though

The old grey shirt rule was you signed your NLI but waited until next Jan to join the team. The NLI still held, so you were committed but would be back counted the next year to the previous class. Also you could only come to school in the fall part time not full time or you eligibility would start.

Now with a grayshirt it has to be determined who wanted the greyshirt.Per the NCAA if the athlete initiated the request after the NLI is signed the NLI is still binding. If the coach at the college ask you to greyshirt after you sign a NLI you can remain committed or make the NLI null and void and go elsewhere.

Essentially there is no more greyshirt per the old definition. The players no longer sign NLI if asked to greyshirt.

If you're trying to make me feel embarrassed about my football team, it's too late. We lost to a lot of bad teams this year, and lost to one of them 30-0. It was an awful day.

Ummm... you might want to take another stab at that...

Sounding like we may have cut Hill loose, this may be a mutual thing. Other offers have been extended.

CBB is building the team right, we will have players that want to be a Hog and will bust their asses for CBB.

LMAO, yeah, you cut your the top player in your state loose at one of your top positions of need.

Sure.

No we didn't. Anyone who is saying that is just trying to spin it. Another offer went out because we need two WR's in this class with our without Hill.

Timing of the offer to Singleton sure makes it curious then... I think we've moved on. And wouldn't blame him.

And to a previous poster, Hill is ONE of the top players in the state, but I don't immediately recall any rankings that have his as THE top player.

Ty Storey (Landers Award), CJ O'Grady (forget which service just ranked him #1), Jamario Bell are all up there.

247 has Hill at #1 in the state.

I don't think it is so much that we told him to hit the road, but we weren't going to wait on him to make up his mind so we did offer another WR target to cover our arse end.

I still think Hill ends up a part of our class. We have his last visit and he is pretty close with guys in this class.

If I'm CBB I wouldn't want to deal with his dad

He managed to handle Alex Collins' mother, he can handle Hill's dad I imagine.

He's the #1 player in the 247 composite

LINK

At any rate, whether or not you want to spin this as not a big loss making him move on...Bielema WANTING to lose what might be his only chance of a good WR on the roster next season is absolutely laughable. Arkansas didn't have even 1 what anyone would call good WR on the roster this season. Your next WR commit down is a mid-3 star

CJ O'Grady is #1 on Rivals and 247.

KJ Hill is #1 on ESPN and Scout.

KJ is the composite number 1 due to the inexplicable rating that Scout has for O'Grady that is way off what the other three sites have for him. If not for that, O'Grady would be #1.

Either way, both player are elite IMO.
