I mean, I like Overshown and think he’ll be a solid player, but to think that a guy who had one tackle in his first season wouldn’t start for only 7-8 teams in the NCAA is a little ridiculous.

He showed it at practice and during the spring game this year.

He will definitely see the field more for Texas in 2019.

Like I said that is how much depth Texas has at S.

I wouldn’t be bragging about Richard LeCounte. If they reclassified after two years, he would be a 3 star. Awful tackler.

I still subscribe to the philosophy that upper classmen are better than under classmen.

Give Lecounte the 2019 season and see where he ranks in the conference.

Are you saying it is impossible to be an all sec contender?

Leconte was the team's leading tackler last year, but he bounced off a lot of larger players. He gained 15 lbs this offseason and I expect him to continue his progression and compete for All SEC.

Reed is one of the best safeties in the country.

Corner is a weakness for TX, but UGA has experience and talent starting on both sides with a roster 4 deep with quality players.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure UGA has a better secondary than TX.

Like all defensive players that go through Texas, they will be wasred and underachieve

That is what Texas does. Then they will be drafted in the second round or lower, because they are soft

He would still be a top 100 recruit.

Overshown is all upside, as you can see from his fun high school hudl. Not sure if he'd start for most teams in the country at this point since he's so raw, but maybe for other teams he would have played more last year, and would have been more ready this year? Maybe that's a stretch

He's probably running 5th right now at safety, but to get him on the field they might put him at linebacker and tell him that it's a box safety position, since he doesn't want to play linebacker

Agree with all of that. Might be higher on the depth chart, and I really like his upside. Was just pointing out that it’s a little absurd to say he would start for 95% of the teams in the country at the moment.

I love Lecounte, but don’t think he’d be that high. Just misses way too many tackles. I don’t think he’s as bad as Long Dawg mentioned, but he has struggled a little bit more than you’d like for someone with his rating coming out of high school.

Hopefully he can pull it all together this season.

LOL, you are from Hinesville - home of Richard LeCounte.

I want LeCounte to be good, but so far he isn’t. Maybe he will end his career at Georgia with a bang but he has started and played well below expectations.

I mean, he led the team in tackles last year, but I guess whatever fits your narrative.

So you think Richard LeCounte is a good tackler?

He can improve. But, he isn’t nearly as bad as some suggest.

Additionally, he is excellent in pass coverage and playing the ball in the air, which are also crucial roles for safeties.

tackling has been an issue for LeCounte. To say he can improve is an understatement. Maybe I overstated some but you are underselling it.

Leconte played a lot of meaningful minutes as a freshman and was the leading tackler as a sophomore for an elite SEC team that was hunting a Natty. He'd easily be a top 100 recruit.

Richard demonstrated that exact same tackling technique in the spring game.
