Really excited about his potential. As good of a QB as Alabama could land this cycle with the catch up that had to happen.

He's a good one, I hope this one doesn't end up biting us in the arse.

I wondered if SMU was going to hold on to him. Nice flip.

Love it! Looks like a Jayden Daniels clone. Extremely athletic, but has been in a prolific passing offense in HS. The staff got their guy! Let's hope they can get Ty Haywood, their top OL target.

Man, I think we're gonna look back in a few years and realize that although that particular skillset isn't particularly rare, being as good as Daniels is extremely rare.

We're hoping we've got the next one with Underwood.

Daniels is a really damn good football player - big fan of his game. The year to year progression that he and Joe B made while at LSU are pretty remarkable.

They had really coverage of last year's DeSoto Duncanville football game. There was so much talent on both sides of the ball and a bunch of those kids were committed to SMU.

Daylen Singleton (WR) - 4 Star 2025 SMU Commit

Mario Buford (CB) - 3 Star 2024 Nebraska Commit

Brandon Baker (LB) - 3 Star 2024 SMU Commit

So............are these just giant 5A schools in 1 school towns, or what?

That's a lot of P5 talent for 2 schools.

The Texas classification runs up to 6A now. Duncanville is in that category while DeSoto is the smaller rung at 5A.

The schools are all considered "South Dallas" or a few miles south of the Trinity river and downtown. They are about 10 miles apart and are really close to other sources of major D-1 talent like Cedar Hill and South Oak Cliff.

The communities are predominantly African American and produce stellar athletes every year. South Oak Cliff, DeSoto, and Duncanville swept the 6A, 5A, and 4A titles 2 years ago.

Duncanville is a bit notorious for its "open enrollment" policies, which means kids can attend the school despite not living in the school district. That is gotten their basketball team in the crosshairs of the state athletic commissions. Duncanville bball has featured Anthony Black, who was a lottery pick for Orlando Magic after a year Arkansas and Ron Holland, a 5 Star G League Ignite player and projected top 15 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft

They texted me, and I’m just like, no, I’m not going to Auburn. You know what this is. Y’all going to try to pull me from one Alabama school to another school? No, that’s not what it is.”
