Lol, an LSU fan thinking his team is clean.

I don’t think my team is clean, there’s certainly levels of cheating. A&M is apparently shelling out huge bucks as well

No they won't. It will be a dam good class that is top heavy but they have a few low rated recruits as well. Why don't you show the home team some of this love.........unless of course you're an alter
If he's an alter, he's SUPER committed... to the point that he showed up in person for UGA Early Signing Day to hang out...

I can't speak for best of all time but I know they have a more than legitimate chance at landing the #1-4 players in this class. (24/7 rankings)
This is from a pretty solid Clemson poster over on DN forums:
quote:
Clemson expects to finish with Flowe, EJ Williams, and Xzavier Henderson, which brings the score to 311.88. With Burch that goes up to 318.54.
For UGA, the class would reach 318.74 with Burch and a tentative finish to the class, WITHOUT Dexter, Evans, OR even a single tight end...and UGA is in prime position for 2 5-star studs.
The “tentative finish” I used on the class calculator was Ringo, Bigsby, Sewell, J Conley, Z Walker, A Smith, and Van Pran (I’ve read DN long enough to know what’s good)
So as much as I would love to see CU get the #1 class, I’m also objective and realize that what @SoFL_Dawg has been preaching to the board is very true...UGA may have the highest ranked class ever.
I'd take the UGA "best class ever" comments as "appeasing the crowd" more than a "I think it will happen"... but it's certainly in the cards. If you look at our possible close, there are pretty easy paths to 325ish ranked classes for UGA. A lot of things have to go right, but it's doable... Of course, we'll have to see what happen to the rankings over the course of the season, as that is typically the great equalizer and can make a lot of the "best class ever" talk disappear pretty quickly.
Clemson will have an exceptional class, I'm not disputing that. Just disputing that it will have a chance at "best class ever"... it just isn't super likely given who else they are currently planning to add to their class.

I am not counting Georgia out. I will say that it will be a major disappointment if he doesn’t come to Oregon. He sees Cristobal as a 2nd father. However, that being said, all of the Sewell brothers have blazed their own path.
I think if Oregon shows consistent play, he ends up here. This class should put at least 8 in the draft with Dye at linebacker going 1st or 2nd round round. Oregon needs to ball out.

If you’re landing the top composite ranking ever, you’re probably doing it wrong. When Oregon offered Ajou Ajou, everyone saw a bully down the road, composite ranking withstanding.
The composite rankings are not in alignment with scheme, class spacing and how good the kid will be when they’re needed down the road.

Yes and no... It's not the driving factor for decision making, as I don't think the staffs concern themselves with rankings of players too much... See: prioritizing Carson Beck over higher rated QBs, or Corey Wren over some other WR targets...
Yet, if you look at who UGA has committed, and who else they have in the cards as possible signees, a top composite ranking is possible as a by-product. I don't think it will happen at this time, but it's also not out of the cards.
Frankly, with the transfer portal now, it's not just important to land the elite talent, but to make sure they have the right mindset coming in... that's really difficult if every kid is top 50/100/150 and has an impression that they'll play early. Only so much playing time to go around.
Thus the reason for my original question... "by what metric" was NC determining that Clemson would have the "best class of all time".

UGA will most likely get Burch, hope it's soon enough for Clemson to pivot to Smalls. He's been recruiting Clemson for 6 months.

We don't expect to get Flowe. If he wants to come....yes, we'd take him most likely. but we are concentrating more on Sewell. We expect Flowe to go to Clemson.

I think he’s intrigued with playing with Sewell. In the end, he goes to Clemson. He spurred SNL for you guys. I think the only way he stays on the West Coast is if the PAC looks significantly better and they’re not.
Except for Clemson and UGA, are the ACC and SEC-East any better than the PAC?

I was told he was a Bama lock?
Posted on 8/2/19 at 5:22 pm to DawgsLife
Yeah, that was said. Point blank it will be tough for the Sewell family to watch all their kids play on Saturday is Noah goes to Georgia. They have one at Nevada and another at Utah. We actually play both teams. I really think Oregon just needs to not suck. I think Noah is attracted to the SEC and doesn’t want to be in the shadows of his brother. That being said, he is casting his own shadow with his 5th star. He will also get plenty development going against Oregon’s OL in practice.

I’m not sure who said that. Very much wanted but never a lock.

To be fair because of Bama’s recruiting success a large portion of your base feels like Bama can get whoever they want, not the case
Posted on 8/2/19 at 7:48 pm to FightinTiga
13 years of recruiting success of Saban will do that. But I’ve always been pessimistic about recruiting. That being said, Alabama has a long history of LB success so losing out on Flowe sucks.

Normal reasonable-minded fans don't think so. Bama has to recruit out-of-state a lot to get elite players and there's plenty of tough competition for them. Bama loses many more of those recruiting battles than they win.

Is he moving to tackle? If so I expect Clemson. If he's planning on paying ILB I expect UGA.
Scheme wise and roster wise Georgia lines up too well not to get either Flowe or Sewell.
