We only threw the ball 277 times that year and had 4 players with over 50 carries, one of which was our QB. Guice and Williams definitely should have gotten more carries that year, but our offense was pretty one dimensional.
As for Emery, I'm not sure how relevant any of this is. Y'all are arguing about how previous staffs used running backs, and even with the old staffs the approaches varied greatly from year to year.
Here are the things I know as it relates to Emery.
1) Both staffs like to run the ball
2) Georgia will have much more returning talent at RB next year than LSU
3) Orgeron has not yet shown a willingness to give a true freshman a lot of carries

To be fair that was Les’ promise to LF when he recruited him and we all know how hard headed Les is.
Fair enough. But again, my rseponse was because of the LSU poster saying we (Georgia) run our RB's into the ground. I would be willing to bet we haven't had a RB run the ball 300 times since Herschel Walker.

Should be a great game. As an ex LSU fan whose brother is still a huge fan, I always look forward to the UGA/LSU games.

True, but it isn't like we have been running a spread offense, either. Again...it wouldn't have been brought up except for the LSU fan saying we run our RB's into the ground.

No I'm not. A LSU fan brought up Georgia's use of RB's and I merely pointed out that LSU runs individual backs as much and sometimes more than UGA does.

These are all fair statements that I can agree with. I would add that our staff gives freshman RB's a lot of opportunities.
2018-so far we have a freshman tied for second on team in carries with only 2 carries fewer than the leader.
2017-Freshman carried the ball 81 times for 600+ yards.
2016-Freshman got 63 carries for 363 yards
2015-Nothing much. No Freshman RB's.
2014-Freshman RB 219 carries for 1547 yards.
So, we do get our freshmen RB's carries in spite of having a lot of talent on the roster at RB.
Hey. It really doesn't matter. In December we will all find out, and none of our opinions will affect the decision.
I think LSU fans are just upset because Georgia fans are acting like we can waltz in and take anybody we want. That isn't true. We can't, but we wouldn't have been in the hunt in the past.
Georgia fans are aggravated because some LSU fans act like nobody can get any Louisiana kid that LSU wants. This is wrong, too. Nobody can can keep all their in state talent. It just isn't possible.

Correct, especially a kid that isn’t a fan of the in state school

everyone here talkin bout carries when it's probably just down to dell mcgee.
we've also been garnering a lot of good offensive line talent, and after his freshman year we'd only have 2 guys on scholly older than him.

Fwiw his dad just simply is way too big a hurdle in this one. He wants to visit and his dad keeps saying he won't visit and his recruitment is shutdown. So I just don't see how we work around his dad at all...

It’s a wonder his dad doesn’t like talking to people who then speak about the nature of those conversations to folks who can’t keep their mouths shut. Sounds like a real trustworthy group of folks to me.

Everybody loses people they want. It's not over. Obviously we think(hope) it is, but it is never over until the sig is on the paper.

It's over for Emery and he is not going to sign with LSU. Davis is committed and I am not so sure we didn't get the better of the two. Emery is a good back and most of the time highly rated running backs tend to fulfill their promise in college but the difference between 3 and 10 mostly is a guess.
LSU fans need to let Emery go and get another very good running back to sign.

The more I see of Cain, the easier it gets for me to see Emery go sit at UGA for a year.

Even if Emery sticks with Georgia, I still don't see him riding the bench
The kid will definitely play IMO

He very well could, but he might also sit a lot. That wouldn't be the case at LSU. At this point, I don't even care. If he decided to flip, I'd be thrilled, but I'm fine with Cain and Davis too.
