I would think this is to be continued. He's phone must be ringing off the hook.

He has a 4.0 GPA and it sounds like his dad is out of the picture so he probably qualifies for a Pell Grant.
He isn't paying shite out of pocket.

Lord dude, he's not coming to Auburn so chill out
Serious question, is this situation of a top 100 player gray shirting unprecedented?

Or maybe even a Runner-up.
Maybe so...but given recent history, he wouldn't be either at UGA...

If he hasn't signed anything I'd bet he ends up somewhere else. He's sort of backed into a corner today though, which explains his doubling down.
What a weird deal. Terrible decision to wait and now to have screwed himself out of dressing out for Bama this year.

Like I said, he may just 1) really love Alabama and 2) doesn't care how long it takes him to get the NFL and spending more time in college

With potential transfers and a couple of signees possibly not qualifying, Parks could easily have a spot to enroll this summer.

Can he wait to sign and see how that plays out?

How do things like the UA capstone/presidential scholar programs apply in situations like this?
As an out of state student who has a 4.0 and I'd imagine pretty good standardised test scores, send like he might qualify for a full ride scholarship.

I believe so - I think that may have happened with Bradley Bozeman but I could be wrong.

It did.
Word is Markail Benton may not have the grades to enroll and if that's true I guess Parks would be good to go.

He'll be on the roster come fall camp.

Can we ever just talk about something without you being defensive as frick? Christ you're like my wife

So he only gets a lease instead of clean title?

I thought I had read on multiple threads (Not today a while back) that Bama was able to take like 30 this year. Was that just not the actual number?

I'm amazed how many guys in here know what all happened behind the scenes and what the kid was and was not told.

He can still enroll in August, right? Just not on athletic scholarship.
Is this where the Bear Bryant scholarship comes in? Shoot. He can probably stack scholarships and get paid in the fall quarter since he isn't on the team.
The Bryant scholarship is only for kids of players that played for Bryant. Not many of them left.
This guy has a 4.0 GPA. He'll get some sort of academic scholarship.

I'm a Bammer, and I'd have advised him to go a different route were it my kid.

Why?
If a kid genuinely wants to go to a particular school and decides it is worth the wait, what's wrong with that decision?
Of course Parks, his parents, HS coach may have already done this and he was firm in his decision that Bama was his solid choice no matter what the circumstances?

That would be even more risky considering most programs aren't going to hold a spot for him. The kid brought this upon himself by waiting, but I applaud him for going where he wants to go.
I bet there are many people on this board that got some sort of offers to school A and went to school B because that's where their heart was.
Like I said, he's a minority with a 4.0 gpa. He isn't going to need to take out a loan to go to any public university

No one knows, but it's pretty obvious if you just look at the facts. There's only so many scenarios that could have played out.
