These kids are ruining their potential NFL careers by going to a shite school.

A lot of kids are talking about HBCU’s now. Going forward we may start to see a lot more of this.

This is 10000% untrue, and you're a dipshit for saying it.

Once Prime leaves JSU in a year or two-tops, the party will be over and it'll be like this never actually happened.

It would be hypocritical of me to have a problem with this given the anger over A&M's class.

There are guys who make it to the NFL from HBCUs. There are guys who make it to the NFL from other other FCS schools. There are some highly rated players who attend Power 5 schools who never pan out.
Their choice. I wish them well.

Maybe you should have told that to:

Jerry Rice-Mississippi Valley State
Walter Payton-Jackson State
Deacon Jones-Mississippi Vocational College
Gene Upshaw-Texas A&I
Willie Lanier-Morgan State
Marques Colston-Hofstra
Jared Allen-Idaho State
Tony Romo-Eastern Illinois
Joe Flacco-Delaware

We could go on and on with players that have gone on to play in and excell in the NFL that went to small schools and Historically Black Colleges.

I can also list off a number of players that went to big schools that never made a dent in the NFL if you would like to see those.

They can always transfer to a big school for their last year to up their draft stock if they're really that good. Do you really think Gibbs is transferring from GATech to Alabama for the education?

That's a recruiting pitch used a lot by them.

Nah, if they are that good they will be fine. They are going to play in small stadiums against crap competition though. They may not care and it's certainly a legit pull to a black kid to want to go to an HBCU and feel very comfortable in the environment there.

If they don't like it they can transfer with ease as well. They will also get a lot of love for doing what they are doing and there is no doubt that Jackson State is going to get a lot more attention than if they decided to go to another HBCU. The risk level for making this move is pretty low.

If I am Vandys AD, I'd hire him.

Please, do go on. I’d like to see the list.

And I’d also like to see the NFL draft percentages with highly rated recruits going to blue blood programs vs HCBUs and other non D1 programs.

I would not be surprised if Howard picked up a few recruits going forward. I know there were a couple of well regarded volleyball recruits who were going to go to A&M, but then switched to Howard.

Earl Bennett is a good friend of mine and we would play pick up against Dominique Rogers Cromartie and other football players from Tennessee State University back from 2006 through 2008

DRC was a 6'2" corner ran a 4.2 and could dunk from the free throw line. He ended up being a 1st Rd draft pick and having a decade + long career and made multiple pro-bowls.

I have no idea how he ended up there, but it was clear from the 1st time I saw him run and jump that he was one of the best athletes I'd ever seen in person.
