Hootie has a good shot to earn some PT next year,

Hootie don't like to hit head up, from what I've seen.

How's those connections at St.Aug working out for yall?

Nah he didn't troll anyone, he had some sort of expectation based on what I'm sure LF told him to appease him (he is a rather large individual). No worries
Glad he picked LSU for the sake of most of the LSU fanbase who understands and follows recruiting, without him committing yesterday would've been an entirely different melt. I wish LF well and hope he lives up to the hype but he is a really good player and he chose the best fit for him. Best of luck to the kid

All these assessments are coming out about Hootie now that he's chosen Alabama...I'm glad so many of you care enough to let us know

I like Hootie. Not as versatile as Adams, but I do like the kid. Reminds me a lot of Josh Evans that played at UF a few years back.

Don't even pretend the grass is greener concept doesn't apply in Gumpland Bucc. Hootie is yours we got Adams, I'm good. You good? Play ball, and lets revisit this in a couple years when the truth is known

He's a lot more of a true S in Bama's scheme, Adams at Bama is a DB
But at LSU Adams is a S and Hootie probably outgrows S and becomes an OLB
I really do like him too, I was quite upset when he backed off, Bama needs S this class in the worst way

Lol what I posted above was about LF not Hootie

Hootie was a top LSU target for years. They were EXTREMELY Surprised when he choose Alabama because he told them he was all LSU. Because safety is an extreme need at LSU they looked at other options IMMEDIATELY. They were pretty shocked that a higher ranked prospect (Adams) had any interest in LSU. Ed Paris then brought him down to LSU and the visit went about as well as it could. He basically fell into LSU's lap. It was not expected and the LSU staff could not believe their good fortune.
Hootie had cooled on Alabama for reasons unknown and "de-committed" . He had "his people" contact LSU to let them know he had reconsidered and was interested in LSU . LSU had already moved on with Jamal Adams and was not willing to do anything that would alienate Adams. SO THEY NEVER CONTACTED HOOTIE OR RETURNED ANY CALLS TO HIS "HANDLERS". They also instructed their Under Armour recruits not to insinuate to Hootie that LSU still wanted him.
LSU told Adams that he was their number one priority, but as the safety position is CRITICAL to the 2014 class, and they needed another one at the position, they would want him to "commit" off the record PRIOR TO THE UNDER-ARMOUR GAME or they would be forced to continue with a back-up plan. Adams thought about it and "committed to LSU".
Hootie, not hearing any positive response from LSU for almost TWO WEEKS, through "his people" threw out the names of Ohio State (implausibly) and Ole Miss to save face, having rebuffed Alabama for some reason. Saban and Alabama continued contact with him and let him know his spot was still there.
LSU by not contacting him and not returning "his handlers" calls were STRONGLY encouraging him to move along.
In essence, Hootie essentially talked his way out of going to LSU by publically "committing" to Alabama even when his heart was really not into it and "forcing" them to switch gears. Once Adams was on board there was no need for Hootie, particularly since he had an "entourage" involved in his recruitment, and his Mother was engaging in a juvenile Twitter Hatefest with the ignorant fans of several schools.
Many LSU fans will blast LSU as if LSU "lost him" not realizing that LSU had already reached agreement with Adams, and had made a business decision to move on. Many Bama fans will ignorantly believe that LSU was eager to get him because it fits their Narrative, not realizing that LSU felt that he had essentially forced their hand, AND THEY HAD LONG SINCE MOVED ON.
Hootie is now "that guy" that LSU coaches will use to tell recruits "if you want us to reserve your spot you better be 100% on board".
I actually believe this is what happened. In the long run, it worked out for both programs.

eta: my post about HJ's lack of physicality must include my other observation that he was clearly the best Athlete on the field the night I saw him play, he just shied away from contact both on defense and as a lead blocker on offense. Mind you, it was ONLY one game I saw, but I know he'd better get physical to play in that defense.

He's not a bad kid, nobody said he was, he will be a good player and I wish him well. But let's have some respect for The Truth and be honest about what happened here. Especially since this kind of thing is becoming very common these days.
nailed it

Have fun with this fat arse DB and head case. When he decommitted rivals dropped Hootie way down, it will be interesting to see where rivals places Hootie now that he's recommitted. Oh and btw these Ole Piss fans dicksucking everything Bama is hilarious.
