I thought the dead period only restricted coaches from reaching out to recruits.

Pretty sure. Dead period means no contact I thought. In another recruitment, our staff is excited about getting Matt Elam in on the last weekend before the dead period begins because no contact can happen between the coaches afterwards and he is announcing beginning of January. Both KY and Bama were fighting for that weekend.

Pretty sure if he wants to visit he can whenever is good for him. These rules are to protect the players and make things easier on them. If the dead period is the best time for him to visit and that's when he wants to, I don't see why the rules would prevent him from it.

I think they can visit during the dead period just like they can call coaches during the dead period.

Well from what I just read a coach can not have face to face contact with a recruit or his parents during a dead period, but coaches can call or write recruits during a dead period. shite is so confusing.
