If Golden gets fired this year Mario Cristobal would be a leading candidate for the job. He is perhaps the best recruiter in the country and his leaving would change, at least to some degree, the recruiting landscape in the SEC. Big Miami fan this year.

The Miami administration doesn't even care enough to consider Golden on the hot seat right now. He has at least one more season of mediocrity before the seat gets hot.

You mean the guy who was born and played for Miami, was head coach at a school in Miami and led that school to the only bowls in their history? In regard to your attempt at insulting...I understand. 21-0 and 4 in a row has screwed you up emotionally. Perhaps therapy would help to quiet the demons and restore some semblance of emotional wellness. Good luck.

Miami isn't in such a bad spot that it would have to hire an OL coach with a 27-47 record.

Florida hired Will Muschamp, a previous Saban coordinator with zero HC experience. And they did so only three years after winning the NC. Exact same thing with Bo Pelini at Nebraska.

Miami, historically, is no better than either of those two programs. History has taught us that it would probably be a bad decision to hire a guy like Cristobal, especially after his failure at FIU, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen. Administrations make dumb hires all the time.

I was talking to a few students a couple weeks ago about this and they would support the hire I think.

If you can recruit south florida, you should win 9 games a year. If you get a couple special guys, win 10+

They were in such a great spot 5 years ago that they hired a coach with a 27-34 record. Golden wasn't exactly Miami's first choice. With shitty facilities and no on-campus stadium, Miami isn't the attractive place to play or coach that it was 20 years ago.

As for Cristobal, nobody is ever going to win at FIU. They've got a crappy 23,000 seat HS stadium and nobody goes to the games. They need to go on the road to get their arse kicked by Power 5 teams every year just to get a pay day to keep the program going.

I just want Miami to win because I work with a Nebraska and Big ten homer. He hangs on every down game or sec loss. At least a wont have to listen to him if Miami wins.

Schnellenberger and Dennis Erickson were offensive coordinators.....and Jimmy Johnson had the success he did because Miami was QBU in the 80's. Schnellenberger is the one who recruited Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar and Vinnie Testaverde. Coker was also an offensive coordinator.
