Spinoff from Bucc's thread.
This time last year- Jamal Adams DB Texas
I remember watching Adams film at the opening and instantly falling in love with his style of play. Great intensity, fantastic footwork, confidence all great DB's require and insanely smooth. I truly think he's LSU's 2nd best prospect of 2014 behind Buga.
NSD- Deondre Clark DE Oklahoma
This was simply because of his family's health issues. I wouldn't have blamed the guy, I just didn't think he was gonna make it to BR.

Looks like we submitted at the same time. Great minds think alike
Ill just copy and paste my OP here.
For Bama:
Da'Shawn Hand: All of the experts picked him to Michigan. Tim Watts picked him to Bama that morning. There are rumors that he had some extended family members show up to his announcement in Michigan gear. He played things really close to the vest.
Tony Brown: Most of the experts picked LSU with his sister running track there. Also the thought of him wanting to stay closer to his dad. The Bama experts hinted it was much closer and put in their pick as Bama the day of the UAAA game.
Rashaan Evans: Aside from Grady and Reuben Foster's uncle, nobody gave us a chance to land him. Even our mods picked Auburn, but said it was too close to call. We had several Bama "insiders" say that they heard he was AU bound.
Under the wtf category:
Josh Casher- When he announced he was committing, we all thought FSU simply because we hadn't heard him mentioned with Bama around his announcement. We already had a crap ton of oline committed. This was before Talamaivao decommitted.
Keith Holcombe- the white linebacker . Scholarships were tight early on and we offered who? Lots of debate on the board about whether we could pass him off as a Bryant Scholarship. I actually like his film and skill-set, but that commitment came out of nowhere.

The only answer for UGA has to be Malcolm Mitchell. 247 I believe had him crystal balled at 100pct to Bama and Bama had been rumored to be the favorite for his entire recruitment. It apparently surprised Kirby Smart as well because he was at the school for MM's announcement and left empty handed.

I thought he showed up before the announcement to hear the news. Pretty sure it is an NCAA violation to be present at an announcement. At least I heard a lot of that talk when Saban saw Elam the morning of his announcement, but left before he announced.

I agree that this was a shocking commit but did they have crystal ball back then? Thought that was a newer feature.

Yeah Kirby was there in the morning iirc. He stormed out of the school when he got the news.

Brian Wallace - All the way up to the minute of his announcement, I still didn't think he would pick us. He was long thought to be a Bama or Missouri lean so it was a huge surprise to snag him at the last minute. Now there is a decent chance that he will be starting or at least figuring heavily into the OT rotation as a freshman this season.

Jalen Tabor or Gerald Willis. Could also add JC Jackson so that too.

This time last year: Victor Evans. It appeared as though he would be a Longhorn but we committed in July and never wavered. He's going to be a monster off the edge.
