I think so too, but he's tight AF with Trooper. Never know man, I've been following recruiting way too long to call anyone a lock that I feel good about.

OK, he has told ND that he will make a decision in the morning.

Well it is early in California... Signs point to N.Dame as school starts today, so there is time for him to enroll, pack, etc... Does anyone know if he can start at Auburn on Friday, Thursday or must he be there by tomorrow?
ETA: Rumor on another board is that the delay is due to the SEC office and a request for a waiver of the rule since they can enroll for spring... The transfer rule was written for folks only coming for the fall, but there is a grey area....
In fact without this, they would have committed to N.Dame already.

I read that we will know something this early afternoon. Jonesy has said he hasn't heard any good news regarding Arik or Armond as of yet. He also is still holding out hope.
Edit: Looks like allin has covered it already

All that I am reading is it looks to be ND. So bummer if true. Here's to hoping AU has some magic left with the SEC.

We need to close strong. Looks like we may be going ot a handful of back up plans in the next couple of weeks if things don't start falling into place. Hopefully we hire a new OC in the next few days and that helps us with some of the guys on the board.

I agree WDE. I am hoping we see an OC named this week. I am still happy with the ones that are committed and fill some key areas of need, but we need some more big time players to keep the momentum going.

Were we supposed to have doubts about McKinzy?

I see good reason for them to grant a waiver. The kid isn't just looking to transfer because he wants to, his school will not clear him medically to play although his own doctors have done so. He is being denied his senior season for no good reason. It will also make the league stronger if they grant a waiver, which is good for the SEC office.

No, he was our #2 non-staff recruiter behind Zeke.

I don't follow...

I don't know all of the details, but I am sure the SEC will be concerned more about precedent and whether or not they are opening a can of worms, as well as PR, than if one or two players might help one team in the 14 team league.
They may very well grant the waiver, but my doubts stem from a perceived PR hit they might take.

Just my take on it, but Auburn gets 2 solid recruits, makes them a stronger team in the SEC, which makes the SEC stronger. If you want to stay strong and keep the NC streak alive, you want all the best athletes coming into the league.

I have no idea. Someone had asked about his commitment the other day so I offered that in response when I saw the tweet.

I think it comes down to the spirit of the rule, and they didn't have medical issues in mind when they made it. They made the rule to keep players like Masoli, who got in trouble at Oregon, from transferring in to escape punishment.
