That’s really damning for Jimbo. He just keeps running that program into the ground.

It was Bobby B screwed over that program. Jumbo just drove it into the ground.

I just can't fathom how stupid of an AD you have to be to make the kinds of decisions FSU has made.
Hiring Norvell was almost the exact same mistake UF made hiring McElwain - they thought "We're in Florida, recruiting will take care of itself" instead of "We're in Florida, we need the most cutthroat recruiting staff in the country."
Mullen isn't a relentless recruiter and his staff isn't elite, but he has major ties to Florida and the SEC and knew what it would take to field a competitive roster. McElwain thought he could drag along his 80 year old buddies and outscheme the competition with whoever showed up for PB&J in August.
(1) Kids in Florida, Georgia, Alabama have no reason to play for Norvell (2) they don't want to play for FSU until they get to know him and (3) the mess he inherited from Taggelwain is one of the worst in recent P5 history.

Norvell signed a bunch of second and third tier kids in Alabama and Mississippi you usually see go to Troy or Southern Miss.

You sound crazy af he set them up with a great coach in waiting in Jimbo
You know how many programs wish to be set up like that? Smh wow
Dude went into Bama stole Winston from the tide. Owned Fla, killed it in DMV, Texas hell nationwide by the end

FSU was a dumpster fire long before Jimbo got there, it was eating itself from within...like most school the good ole boys club had real control.
This happened at LSU when Joe Dean took over to help save LSU money he hired Curly and bragged how he saved LSU 500K a year and keeping the old club in power.
Notice the raise of Clemson is when the downfall of FSU was in the works.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. People are now seeing how good of a damn coach Bobby Bowden was. He took guys like zeke mowatt, Peter Tom Willis, Danny McManus, Jimmy Jordan and kez mccorvey and made them all Americans. Maybe the best pure "coach" that ever walked a sideline.
