Lol, don't act like you know where he is going. I don't even think he knows where he is going. The power of having friends who are all star recruits probably doesn't out weigh the school he grew up a fan of. However, I don't know where he is going and I'm not going to pretend too.

Malik when asked if the Howland hire will influence his decision, "Not a lot . . . not a lot at all."

For more context, he was also quoted saying this:

quote:

The most recent shift in the landscape of his recruitment is the recent hiring of Ben Howland to Mississippi State. Newman, however, downplayed any effect that coaching change would have on his recruitment.

"Its not really a big effect," he said. "It’s a school that I’ve been looking at the longest. I’m sort of a little more interested in those guys, but I still like those guys like I’ve been liking those guys.... It hasn't really changed anything."

So he's liked us all along is what he's saying.

Where is Sampson most likely to end up?

Nobody knows, 10 teams are recruiting him hard right now. Visiting MSU, Tulane and SMU very soon...he made comments yesterday he is looking to start wherever he goes, so LSU is probably out.

Sampson also plans to take unofficial visits to Mississippi State and Tulane next week before an official visit to SMU next weekend.

quote:

"I don't wanna jump into anything too fast, so I don't wanna really just tell anybody what I'm looking for," he said. "But one concern I have going into any school is starting as a freshman, going somewhere where somebody's gonna get me better, so that's basically what I wanna hear.

quote:

"If you're calling me, I don't wanna hear anything about playing to the system or coming off the bench. I wanna come in and play big minutes as a freshman."

Personally I'm not a big fan of him, I liked Jacob Evans better in state. When the two met and played against one another, Evans ate his lunch.

He thinks he's a lot better then he really is. I've never been crazy about Sampson.

He's LSU bound bro. Would be easier for state to pull him if he had some state commits to run around the country playing in all star games with. Simmons and Blakeney are bringing him to LSU with them

See this right here just sets y'all up for disappointment. I really thought y'all would have learned your lesson after the Leo incident. I have no clue where he is going to go, and neither do you.

I'm starting that the "Leo incident" gave you purpose in life.

No, but it should have given you a realization that you nor anyone else on this board knows what these types of recruits are thinking or where they are going to play next season.

Yeah, I'm not going overlook State making that late night trip to the ATM the night before Newman's decision.

This thread should be whacked. This thread has turned into an LSU and state basketball roast, not an objective view on Newman's college choice. Ole Miss thinks it's between them and Kentucky. State thinks it's between them and Kentucky. LSU thinks it's between LSU, Kansas, and State, with Kentucky being the choice if unexpected departures happen. The discussion is just going to end in a cloud of dust

I think it's lsu vs state. These are the 2 closest schools and both have an opportunity for Malik to start at pg. Kentucky already has the #1 pg and the harrisons are projected as 2nd round picks. I think it's 55-45 lsu right now

I think it's between LSU and State with Kentucky being on the outside looking in.

I don't think anyone realistically thinks Ole Miss is in this game at all. Never have been either.

I didn't say LSU is above cheating, geesh. Everyone cheats, and it seems pretty evident there's a systematic way of pulling it off without getting caught

I'd applaud State taking the gloves off and making the purchase, because it's what i would want lSU to do

I know everyone cheats, you just make it sound like that's the only way that State is even in the game with Newman.

If you'd go back and look, this thread has been objective by everyone but LSU fans. Y'all have turned this into a roast because you think there is no way Malik would go play in "Starkghanistan for #failstate lololol."

As if being from Mississippi, father playing at MSU, Howland having a long list of current NBA players, and growing up an MSU fan wouldn't play a role, or that LSU wouldn't offer something on the table as well.
Not everyone ejaculates over Baton Rouge or LSU the way most of y'all want to believe.
