You wanna know why he keeps telling people, "No, I'm not in Oxford."?
Because when it is speculated that he is in Oxford, Gene and Steve blow up his phone and bug the heck out of him. And don't tell me they don't. If Jones flips to Ole Miss on signing day, they're losing a ton of subscribers. They've already lost a good bit.
The writing is on the wall for some of you to go ahead and accept it. But you won't and you'll get so emotionally invested that you can't find any other reasoning except cheating when Wesnesday comss. Jones isn't going to flip until signing day to avoid all the phone calls and interview requests from the State site.
If the guy was rock solid to State, why would be go from the State game back to Oxford to hang out with CJ Johnson? Mullen hates kids taking other visits. That should tell you how much he is committed. He can say what he wants.

I hope I eat crow regarding Conner but I'll only believe he's a Rebel when I see that he signed his LOI and faxed it to Oxford

You guys sound really confident on Jones and Conner. It makes me feel a little better, but I can't ignore the steady drum beat of chatter that says we could lose them both.

How could we "lose " jones? He is committed to State. He would only be icing on the cake...

The Chris Jones saga, CliffNotes version:
1) Committed to State for a long time, was told by many how bad Oxford sucks blah blah blah
2) Meets RN and Treadwell at UA-AllAmerican game and they become close. RN and Treadwell asks him to at least visit.
3) CJ visits Oxford and finds it isn't what MANY told him it was. He begins to question those who started the propaganda from the beginning. He tells many players that he wants to be a Reb but has to get Mom on board.
He also tells many reporters he wasn't going to Oxford but goes anyway.
4) Speck reports when he goes to interview Jones this week that his phone is blowing up the whole time. Says he thinks the decision and pressure is heavy on him.
5) Goes to Oxford twice this weekend but doesn't blow off the State coaches in home visit or his plans to go to Starkville as that might ignite another State media firestorm that won't leave him alone.
6) He supposedly has his mind made up now and his Mom is at peace about it. They're avoiding the media and denying everything as to keep the press away. Wednesday it looks like unless some drastic turn of events take place CJ will be a Rebel and GenesPage will absolutely implode.
