I'm sure he was probably already committed and signed. Otherwise he wouldn't have been out there. I will be the first to admit I don't know all the ins and outs of these portal dudes but Saban practically wrote the book in recruiting so he wouldn't risk something stupid at a place as high profile and public as this.

I am guessing some combination of he, Downs, Amos and Ricks in the backfield next year. Probably the other safety spot opposite Downs if I had to guess.

Coaches can have contact with portal players once they are in the portal and the two teams in the championship game also get an extra 5 days.

Yep they reduced the portal time this year from 60 days to 45 days.
