Actully not at all. Its nice to get the Instate guys but in all honesty VU is best served recruiting on a national level. Id take a 4 star from FL,Cali, TX over a 5 star from TN 9/10 times.
So did Dooley.....

On Hurd, I feel like he's a little overrated. He has a really good skill set, but I feel his highlights are a bit overhyped due to the terrible competition. Feel like he's really a 4* back talent wise, but nonetheless he is a good pickup for UTn.
Granted it is not Florida or Texas good, but the surrounding Metro Nashville area has some very good teams/regions.

Carlos Younger who works for TennesseeVarsity.com and runs camps and 7on7 teams in Tennessee posted this.

Family Day...instate and OOS kids..... I would be surprised if the Vols didnt get a few more kids this weekend.... also some kids from other class 2015 and 2016 instate may already be in the fold as well.........and may make their intentions known soon.....

He hinted to a commitment soon last weekend and someone asked if he meant Jalen Hurd, he posted this.

Yes this is what I meant. I knew it was happening last week, buit didnt want to steal the kid's thunder. I will say that its not over yet......... i would expect several other instate kids to drop as well in addition to some OOS legacy kids.....

Butch is killing it in recruiting right now

I think Gaulden is going to Vandy. Dude loves James Franklin, but he has only visited UT once and loved the visit. Plus he goes to the same hs as Vic. Malone was a lean to UT before the coaching change, and we have a lot of momentum with him now. Someone kid plays on Malone's 7on7 team on 247 and he said Malone talks like his favorite is the Vols, but wants to enjoy the process.

Darel Middleton from Powell is supposed to be the best player instate 2016 and will probably be a top 50 player. He is a heavy vol lean, will probably commit soon if allowed. I would also love to see us get a commit out of Rico Mcgraw or Josh Smith. They will be the top 2 players instate next year.

I think its possible to see Emmanuel Smith pull the trigger also since he is visiting this week.

Who played for the Cowboys. Who still has a ranch in North Texas. Who wants to move back when he is done coaching his son. Who wants to be close to his kid on Saturday. Therefore... Aggie lock.

Who was in Knoxville on Monday? Who spoke with the team about the Tennessee tradition. Who's son will be at the junior day this weekend?

Will Tennessee end up with #1 recruiting class in the country? or maybe top 5-ish class Fulmer used to bring in?

They need to. If Tennessee can pull in a top 5 class they're back on the road to success.

I'd like to see 'em compete for the East again.

People forget how well UT could pull recruits from Georgia California and the Carolinas.Even grab a few good kids from Alabama and Louisiana.
